Buenos noches.

Fresh from the cine, where we saw the película Valor de Ley, known as True Grit in ingles.

The flick started out great, I think the young actress was actually nominated for an Oscar. But it ended weakly…too bad. But the 8 people in the audience seemed to enjoy most of the film!! Ja ja ja

MISC

Here is some info about Guelaguetza, a major festival in Oaxaca City. Daniel told me to look it up and it does seem interesting.

We will head back to Oaxaca many times, and this may be one of them. We would also like to visit again right after rainy season so we can visit Monte Alabn when it is all green.

This article is about Semana Santa, or Holy week here in Mexico. Huge celebrations as according to the website 90% of Mexicans are practicing Catholics.

It is going to be crazy around here the week of April 17-24.

As for today, it was el gimnasio, Mojon, Che, alberca for a rinse off and then the cine.

Fotos from the walk.

Just a hombre.

But he is carrying huevos with him. It always makes me wonder when I see these abarrote that sell unrefrigerated eggs. Even Che does that, but we did see them refrigerated in the big grocery stores we visited on our way through Northern Mexico.

Otra hombre.

He is taking a break from selling cocos frios via his wheelbarrow. Tough gig as they pay 2-3 pesos for each coco and then sell them for $10 pesos.

Other people here have the same idea as us in regards to how to spend the day!!

These two young men are headed out to conquer the world.

One sweet tooth at a time.

Who’s coming to Santa Maria de Huatulco?

On viernes, primero de avril?

Oh yeah…Los Capos de Mexico!! Why the foto? Very colorful advertisement/graffiti on the wall. The sign was 10 feet tall.

Dump truck.

The guy with the grinder had completely removed the floor from inside the bed.

Came home and we loaded up our camioneta…truck....and off we went.

We had a great day at Mojon. It was completely deserted, except for a few of the regular dogs that patrol the beach. Tenouche (?), the dog owned by Scott from Nfld, hung out at the palapa eagerly waiting for us to throw him the coco he had brought with him. That pero is nuts…but we obliged and once you do that, he just won’t go away.

We must thank the person who paid and had these 3 signs installed at the entrance to Mojon (right when you turn off the highway).

No big ah-has at Che…we did see the cacahuate M&Ms though!!

Great cena of steak brocheta con papas and of course the world famous ensalada de mixta from Bexico!!

Mañana? Clase de español starts up again. Will hit the gym después clase and then alberca time.

Hasta luego.
