Buenos Noches.

930pm and I still need to pack for our trip…doph.

Quite the day here.

Condo Association came to our door (one senorita y Oscar the head property manager) and told us the Telmex wire that Oscar had previously approved, was against condo rules y regulations. Huh?

Oscar played dumb while the senorita tried to convey that she was amazed Telmex would install such a wire.

No solution yet, but everyone involved knows we need internet and DO NOT disconnect it until we have a solution. It looks like Rick and myself will be in contact with Telmex to see what can be done.

It looks like another pain in the butt!!

And what else goes wrong? Car alarm is wacky. I called the installer and he had no immediate solutions. Maybe the car wash shorted something and mañana it will all be fine. Yeah right.

Good things that happened?

Camioneta was washed and vacuumed. Boy did it need it. I did the back of the truck just because of all the sand from Mojon!! $80 pesos for the works…all by hand.

Also had some good news via Nissan. I could not find the correct aceite (oil) so I went to Nissan. I had a great chat with both the mechanico y the service manager. And none of it was in Ingles!!

The truck was making a loud noise when it turned to the right and I knew it to be some “stoppers”. The mechanico listened (verbo escuchar) and he too agreed. I had 4 of them replaced on the spot for around $25 Cdn…and they topped up the oil for gratis…free.

Como dice “stopper” and the mechanico called them tope…the same word for the big a** speed bumps in the middle of the highways. I guess those would be stoppers too!!! Ja ja ja

So two good things and two bad.

As for Oaxaca City, we have our mapa(s) from on line and I picked up one in the mall (lol) as well.

No accommodations set up, but there are tons of places around the centro y zocalo.

As for places to see and visit, there are several mercados y museos to visit.

Atracciones? El Tule…a VERY old tree. Monte Alban…the archeological site. The town of San Bartolo de Coyotepec where they have the famous black pottery. San Martin Tilcajete where they have the very colorful hand made y painted figurines. ETC ETC ETC. We will be busy.

Everyone confirms it is a long 8 hours via Pochutla and 6.5 via Salina Cruz. We will go up one way and back the other.

Here is a link to some info on the 8 hour drive to Oaxaca City.

Tons of fotos to come!!

Rest of the day…el gimnasio y alberca time.

As for what the three (including Rosa) senoritas were laughing at ayer. The word they called me is “coqueto” and it was not in Rosa’s dictionary. After Google Translate, it comes out as “lady-killer”. Ja ja ja

It was all meant in fun and they are harmless senoritas!!

Told Rosa “te veo en cinco dias”…see you in 5 days.

That’s all for today. Wish us luck (where is the orange pail for Bexico?) and look forward to some great fotos.

Oh yeah…3 fotos.

Gato negro y Bono the Mono and some mangos from a tree on our own grounds.

Hasta luego.
