It hasn't been a "stroll around Vancouver and take photos" kind of day. It has been a gotta go get a ton of stuff done kinda day.
So here is your photo. I think mi hermano read our Navidad blog, saw the arbol de Navidad on the playa, and like an eager younger brother, has tried to emulate what he saw. I leave it up to you to decide.
As for the day....
Gimnasio...great to see some regular faces. Nice to work out in a gym where I am not the only one sweating. Mexicans don't seem to sweat in the gym...even wearing jeans and dress shirts (?). Thank you Nate for the gratis use of 55.
London Drugs (farmacia) for some M&M por mi novia y a gift for Lalo.
The Bay to see what was left of Olympic ropa...not too much.
Budget for the carro de rental...Volvo. Then picked up Bexico and off we went to Port Moody to mi hermanos casa. His espousa and hija not feeling too well (hope you are better soon), but were kind enough to give us all of the mail and packages they have been holding onto. Hopefully they enjoy the coffee from Pluma and the Oaxacan Mezcal!!
Stupid Store in North Van...$500 in goods for the next week as well as to bring back to Huatulco. Might be pushing the weight limits for luggage...but Bexico the packing Queen seems to think it will be a-ok!! I seem to recall this same positive attitude prior to me running BACK to storage with my BOES that just didn't fit in the back of the truck!! lol
Off to storage and it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. Most of our snowboard gear was right near the front and after digging through one or two containers, we pulled out some cold weather ropa as well. We left behind all the Stupid Store Mexican purchases, and will pick them up when we drop off all the cold weather ropa.
I did get one GREAT package today!! All my t-shirts and beanie from Steve Zissou and the Life Aquatic!! So cool. Bexico is thrilled to have another Stephen Silver book as well as a surfing book.
Go go go and we dropped or stuff off at the condo so Bexico could make her appointment and I could spend some time with Mubba and review his trip to Peru and Machu Pichu. What an experience...sad we missed the opportunity (as we had moved to Mexico...what an experience!!), but it will happen for us in the future as it is on our list!! Great to see Mike.
Great sorpresa as Bexico came by to say hi to us!! And then I was off to meet Stuart, whom I have called Stu for 26 or 27 years. We met at YT Brewery...and they were closed for renovations. Hilarious because the last time we met, it was at Dix and they were permanently closed and we had gone to YT Brewery instead.
Off to Cactus Club and it was good catching up with Senor Lower. Nice to see our sever knew all about Steve Zissou!! S&D...enjoy the Riviera and Stu...see you in Huatulco.
Came home and passed Bexico as she was on her way to meet some chums at her old work...right across from YT Brewery!! lol She took the Volvo (Swedish for common sense?) and off she went. Me? Did a wash and packed up the gear for Jueves road trip to Whister where it has been dumping snow!!
