Not a busy Lunes...tranquillo.

The town has quieted down dramatically with Nacionals headed back home as their vacaciones are over.

My day was as per usual, Bexico spent her time applying for on line contracts as well as working on the animation contract she currently has.

Misc:

Santa Claus is fairly new to Mexico, while the Dia de Reyes, the Day of the 3 Kings, has been the more traditional day when ninos would receive their presents. El 06 de enero is 11 days after Navidad and that is when the 3 Kings brought gifts to baby Jesus, so I am told, thus that is when ninos would get their gifts.

Here is a link to some more info on the Dia de Reyes.

Despues desayunos, I was off to the gimnasio. I passed Daniel on the way and he told me he had a bueno Fin de Ano…not much detail, but a huge smile!!

I also passed this senora, who judging by her colorful ropa, is not a local.

This photo is from a traffic island near mi gimnasio. I often see people just set up shop hoping to make a few pesos.

Talking about pesos, the exchange rate for pesos is at it’s best since we arrived. I took some money out of an ATM and TD Bank gave me a 12.01 exchange, while all my Che purchases via Amex, are getting a 12.05 exchange.

Since we bought the lot 4 years ago, the exchange rate has gone from .75 vs US dollar to 1.01…this really helps with our future build costs.

Continuing on my walk to the gym, I came across these two advertisements for Dos Equis and Tecate products.

I got the hat…lol

Had a great workout at the gym (unrelated to the Tecate calendar) and it was good to catch up with Rosa after 3 days away. Her hija returns to Mexcio City manana, will return in 6 meses and came down with an ear infection.

Memo is back from a one mes tour of Cancun, Mayan Riviera etc. He was part of a tour, acting as a guide. We chatted it up and confirmed he had a great time at the Papaya night club on Fin de Ano.

Today what did I learned about Mexicans? They work with what they have. In the gimnasio there are 5 Greg Lemond stationary bicycles and two had this part broken.

I knew they would not be able to get one in Huatulco, so I ordered 2, plus some pedal straps, and had them sent to mi hermanos casa in Vancouver. The plan is to pick them up when we go on our vacaciones and bring them back upon our return.

Well, I arrive today to see that they have replaced all 5 of the parts (made of plastic), with ones manufactured here in La Crucecita…out of metal. Greg and his team should have done this in the first place!!

Well…at least the pedal straps will get used.

Did a quick walk through town and saw Sergio catching up on some zzz’s after a busy season de Navidad.

And what are they selling out of the back of this car?

Cocos of course….and yes they have removed the lid of the trunk and inserted a cutting board.

Came home and had some alberca time and then a relaxing afternoon. We were even relaxed at 415pm when we had a pretty strong treblor…tremor.

La cena was chili…oh so good.

Manana? Nothing special planned, but later this week we have the better olas coming in for some better surfing and boogie boarding, and we hope to go to San Augustin to check out the playa there. We hear there is some great snorkeling there, and if not, we will continue on to Salchi bay where we know there is.

And manana Bexico is thinking about yoga…minus the 6am wake up call!!

That’s all for now folks.

Hasta luego.
