Feliz Dia de Reyes!!
Esta noche, this town is all about the ninos!! More on that later.
So today was one that fits the routine. Desayunos, walk, gimnasio, walk, alberca time, walk with Bexico and then la cena.
Won’t bore you all, but will fill in some of the details.
Of course I saw Daniel and he say hola to all of you.
Here are some photos from the walk to the gimnasio.
This photo is from the parque I pass every morning. This comidor is always busy and serves economical meals.
I love the colors in this photo.
This intersection has been in several of my photos.
This is a lavanderia I pass every day and is usually manned by some teenage senoritas.
It is common here that if the family needs to earn money, ninos will finish their lower levels of public school and then work in the family business.
I just liked the look of these hand made decorations hanging above the street.
Great session at the gimnasio and had another nice chat with Rosa. We talked about Las Vegas, gambling, avions (airplanes) and the fact that mi novia has already started packing for her BC vacaciones!! Of course...all in Espanol!!
Stopped at the neighborhood abarrote (grocery store) and found the ajo picado (chopped garlic) I needed for tonite’s la cena.
Said hola to the boys on the way home, and was given an otro request by Lalo…Vancouver playeras for his ninos. I also gave him the Future Shop website address so his hermano can pick out a laptop…that we might pick up for Lalo…but he will pay for.
Alberca time was muy tranquillo…there was only one other person in the pool!!
Then it was time for our walk to pay the water bill. $240 pesos…$20 for dos meses…two months. We can handle that!!
Here are the photos from that walk.
Miss Bexico with the ever present Spanglish dictionary.
Just getting the pastor ready for the tacos…5 chico for $30 pesos.
Nice range of colors here too.
But we also love the 3-wheeled vehicle. It would be so fun to boot around town in that!!
Almost missed this photo as the senor walked faster then I thought he would/could.
Here are two signs. The first one is a help wanted sign and there are many of them around town.
They are looking for a female youngster to work at a jewellery manufacturing shop.
This sign is self-explanatory.
Hoy means today.
For blog followers that may have missed the meaning of Dia de Reyes and the Rosca de Reyes, here is the link again.
Rosca de Reyes
Today os all about the ninos. Cake and regalos...presents...time for the true Mexican Navidad.
And some photos related to today.
What is in the back of this truck?
Rosca de Reyes!!
And in the back of this truck?
Rosca de Reyes!!
And in the side of this truck?
Rosca de Reyes!!
And in the back of this truck?
Got ya…sandia y melon!!
Here is an otro truck with Rosca de Reyes and a Rosca de Reyes road side stand.
Here we have some ninas loaded up with their Rosca de Reyes. They were about to jump in a taxi with their padre.
Here is Bexico at Alejandro’s Panaderia looking for pan for la cena.
We were lucky to find some, as they had almost nothing on their shelves, but...Rosca de Reyes.
This sign outside the bakery impresses me. Please click on the photo and see how much you can understand.
The panaderia is doing its part in saving the environment. They have started charging for bolsas (bags), and amongst other things, this sign talks about how long items take to compost. Plastic bottles 70-450 anos etc. Here in Huatulco you do not see much, if any, of this type of concern from the public, let alone a business. Good for them!!
We came home and cooked this recipe for la cena.
The cerdo is a slightly different then the ground pork in Van, but they tasted pretty good!! A small cooking issue as the oven control knob states 1-5…not degrees. So I took a stab at 375 and the meatballs were slightly overdone. But at least I did not kill us with underdone pork!! Lol
Manana? Gimnasio and then La Bocana…or our oficina at Mojon!!
Received a correo electronico (email) from TS. A small ribbing about having the new Canon T2i camera?? lol
But he also supplied a great link to some Nat Geo photos.
National Geographic
Hola to mi amiga Sidney!!
Hasta luego.
