Our third day of boarding was a HUGE success!!

Got up early, had our desayunos and did the quick walk to the lift. Thrilled to see the gondola was fixed so we could take it all the way to the top.

Weather was warm…only -2 at the top of Whistler, and no precipitation. And as you can tell by these photos, the sun was doing it’s best to make an appearance.

The first photo is from the early morning and the rest are from later in the day.

This photo is of a green (easy) run down to the bottom of the Emerald chair.

A great story about riding up the Emerald involves the ninos (5-8 years old) taking their ski/board lessons. When you are in the line with less then 4 people, a ski/board instructor may ask if you will take a nino up the chair with you.

We always volunteer and as I am always on the right side of the line, the nino sits next with me. I do my best to make the ninos feel comfortable and make them laugh. Two of the kids were from Australia and I make sure the ninos know Bexico has a hermana living there. Then I go about asking if they have a kangaroo or koala bear as a pet. This makes them laugh.

The last kid was from Vancouver and had no pets, his madre had given the bird away. Anyway…we started talking about cats and dogs that fart and he was howling. That led to his farting sister and crazy aunt. Now I was howling. I am sure his parents may never put him on a lift with us again. Lol

Talking about rippers….

We are in the Roundhouse at the top of Whistler and I put my knapsack behind a bench. When I go back to pick it up there is this lady (see photo) sitting there. And she has ripped one and is giving the old “not me” look. Busted!!!

Enough about “natural” gases. Lol

Around 1030am they opened our chair!!

Here is how excited Bexico was that we were headed to our chair.

We ripped (lol) over to this chair.

We have had to “fog” out the name on the sign, so as to keep any riff raff away. If you need to know where the best boarding at Whistler is, drop me a line and I will tell you.

And this shows you what kind of terrain we were going to experience.

Melon would be envious….here is what we experienced for lift lines…all day long.

These two photos are from the top of the meadow…tough to see but there are only one or two tracks through this freshie!!

Two photos from the same run, but just below the first set of trees.

A photo of Blackcomb mountain across the way.

We did multiple rides on this run and had fresh tracks each time. An outstanding way to end the trip.

Here is Bexico and yours truly on the way up the chair for the last time this season.

And the last two photos are of Bexico making new friends wherever she goes.

We left the hill and walked back to the condo where we took a break for one hora.
Then we saddled up and went to the small theatre in town and watched The Kings Speech. It was a very good movie and I recommend it for anyone with interest in the history of the English throne.

Picked up some eats for la cena and you are all caught up. I am typing the blog and editing photos while Bexico the pack donkey (a term of endearment) is getting our boarding gear ready to go back into storage.

Manana? Checking out in the morning and driving back to Vancouver. We will stop at the Stupid Store for one or two more items as well as tax free fuel for the rental car. Then we drop off the boarding gear and check in to the condo. Not sure what we do next, but we will head out to PM around 430pm to have dinner at O&K’s.

You are all caught up. Our vacaciones is almost over…looking forward to getting home to our palapa!!
The weather forecast is HOT...highs of 30'ish...feeling like 36!!

Take a look yourself.

La Crucecita weather

Hasta luego.
