Hola hola and welcome to the 900th posting of this blog. Thanks for hanging in there!!
All is well here in
Huatulco!! Currently 8pm and the lil’guy was fast asleep when I went in to take
over from madre. As a matter of fact, they were BOTH asleep!! Ja ja ja
Max has decided that 6am
is his official wake up time, and today was no different. The good news is that
he slept through most of the noche.
Madre let me sleep in
until 7am and then the boys started their AM rutina. No walk today as we had a
list of errands to run, and Max was a trooper getting in and out of the
camioneta.
First stop was the
hospital to check on the availability of Max’s next vacuna. It is due 14 de
febrero and good thing we went in to check, as it won’t be available until 20
de febrero.
But the best part of the
trip? Max loves the hospital and was running around and laughing, bringing many
a smile to the crusty peeps we saw at 9am.
Next stop was Nissan and
Carlos was not in so off we went to visit Goodyear, where they advertise wheel
alignments.
No need for a cita, it
takes 30 minutos and the cost is $250 pesos. Not bad. I will chat up Tony and
see if he thinks I need one.
And after Goodyear it was
off to see Tony, mi mecanico y amigo. Now it is one thing to live in a country
where español is spoken. It is another to try and learn car parts in that
language.
Some are easy…filtro de
aire y filtro de gasolina. Some are even easier…a code scanner is a scanner en
español. But sensors are sensores and spark plugs are bujías.
I had a list of possible
reasons for the bad gas mileage we are getting, and reviewed them with Tony. We
agreed on a list of refacciones and I will return with the parts on viernes.
Headed home and I dropped
off Max for leche time and the start of his siesta, and then back to Nissan. I
grabbed a filtro de aire y gasolina and 4 very expensive bolt stops.
On Friday Tony will use
his scanner to see if there are any issues with the O2 sensor, change the gas
filter and change the bolt stops. I already did the air filter as we needed to
see what size it was.
A good money maker? Nissan
parts in Mexico, as many are made here with the cheap Mexican labour, but the
prices are almost the same for the parts I would buy in Canada.
The money saver is the
obra de mano, labour of hand as it translates. $100 Cdn an hour in Canada and
around $20 Cdn an hour here.
After Nissan, it was home
to take over nap duty and look what I found.
More rare then the fotos
of Sasquatch…our hijo sleeping!!
I took over and had a good
siesta myself and when it was time to wake up…hola to a quick bed head FT con
Opa.
Then it was lunch and
padre watched Max while madre had a work Skype. Good news is that it looks like
Bex has landed a new Ontario based client and one that wants her to create
three animations. Score!!
After that great news, the
familia hit the playa and padre hit the gym. We met back at the condo for some
alberca time and then the next thing you know, it is time for la cena and the
PM rutina….and you are all caught up.
A few more fotos.
As we headed out to the camioneta, Max ran into a new helper here at CP. Max is a helpful niño and here he is showing the new hombre how to properly sweep the landing.
When you hear the clanging, you run out with your basura...and it is self serve!!
Mañana? Mojon!!
Have a great Valentine’s
Day!!
Marco, Bexico y Max
