Buenos noches!!

720pm and the lil’guy is lights out!! He had quite the full day of walking, running and swimming and was pooped out!!

Great day and we have this one siesta per day think worked out, which Max is handling well. Me too, as I grabbed another 2.5 hour siesta with him this morning!! The one person not getting fulfilled? Madre has lost her afternoon siesta!! Doph.

Pretty good night sleep for the lil’guy…if you don’t count the 330am until 430am stretch where he was wide awake…with Bex. Doph.

I took over at 7am and we had a good desayunos and then headed in the camioneta to Santa Cruz to hit up the banco as well as do our morning walk there.

The banco was easy. No line up, take a number, grab a seat and when it is your turn, head to one of the 5 (yes 5) caja, tellers. The HSBC around the corner from us has 2 tellers open…and huge line ups.

Short wait and I presented the transfer info and the senorita asked me a question. I did not get all of it and answered “sí, dinero” and she laughed. Then in VERY good ingles, she asked me if I was transferring in or out the dinero, money.

I complimented her on her ingles and told her I was practicing mi español and still learning, but when palabras like banco mean bank and bench, I sometimes get confused. She laughed and then I said, what is up with “mañana por la mañana”…the frase which means “tomorrow morning”.

Meanwhile, Max is standing on the counter banging on the bullet proof glass and the customer next to us turns over and says “hola Max”. Of course she did!!

We got our pesos and while heading out, a couple admire Max running around the banco and say to him “adios Max”. Of course they did!!

Thirty second drive to the playa and we get out and Max walked for 45 minutes. We stopped at INM and Sandra, the jefa, came out and was very excited to see us.

We used to go to the playa at SC almost every day, but with our changing schedule, we have not been for a few months. Sandra missed Max, asked how Bex was doing and was genuinely happy to leave her oficina to say hola.

Nice to have INM peeps a friends as not only are they nice peeps, but we are due for Max’s FM3 in a few months!! What, a year has gone by already?

Home by 1030am or so and madre took over, as she usually does, for some leche and hug time with the lil’guy.

By the time I have changed shirts, grabbed some liquidos and checked email, 15 minutes has gone by. I go into the bedroom prepared to help the lil’guy fall asleep…but he is passed out in madre’s arms!! Score!!

And 2.5 hours later…time for lunch!! Lol

The familia hit the playa after lunch and I hit up el gimnasio. Then it was home time to set us up for la cena and the PM rutina.

Early dinner, early FT con Oma y Opa, early tina time, early bed time and ta da…you are all caught up.

Fotos.

I meant to show this to you a few days ago. It is a foto of the Rosco de Reyes bread with the toy figurine inside. If you were given this slice, you would be honored to bring the tamales to the fiesta on Día de los Candelaria.

Max prowling the landing in his new playera.

Off to the playa at Santa Cruz and I think he might have a panale wedgie?

There is an open air iglesia in Santa Cruz and Max has found the priests silla. Oh Max!!

Look up, waaaaay up, and I'll get Rusty. And then we will see if those are live wires!! Doph.

Our walks include many stops to just check things out. Muy curioso!!

Outside the Harbour Masters oficina. One question...why?

From my walk to el gimnasio.

Not as good as yesterday's pollo, but a mordida is a mordida!!

This caminon was full of naranjas, oranges, for sale.

Here, the one Mercedes in Huatulco pulls up for a $10 peso bolsa of oranges.

And under the camion? Nap time.

This is the Fruver camion.

Fruver (short for fruta y verdura, fruits and vegetables) is the main fruit and veggie store here in town, and they get 3 deliveries a week. The driver makes the 6 plus hour drive from Oaxaca City, normally arriving in Huatulco at 7am or so. They unload the truck over several hours and then the driver catches some zzz's before heading back.

The trip can be nerve racking with all the topes y curvas...a new road, promised to be competed a few years ago, should be ready in a few more!!

Misc

Bexico’s work status? She had to decline a large contract ($5k) due to the fact that the amount of work required would have meant she was being paid $6/hr. Huh? But the potential client has publishers lined up and would give Bex 20% of the publishing profits.

Uh….no. She did something like that before and it is not in her favor!!

But she does have 3 or 4 more possible clients on the go and she is doing her due diligence as she works through all the proposals. As always with her work, feast or famine.

Nothing confirmed, not going to jinx it. Stay tuned!!

Nothing new with me, other then the fact that I need a haircut and this not shaving on days that end with a “y” is making me look pretty scruffy. Ja ja ja

Mañana…hola to playa Mojon!!

Have a great miercoles.

Marco, Bexico y Max
