Short and sweet?

Padre had the night shift and the lil’man slept straight through…from when we gave him his gotas de ojo, eye drops, until 515am!! Score!!

And what happened at 515am? Two wide eyes were open and hoping for padre to get up. Ahhhhh…no.

Leche and then an hour or so of slumber time and then the boys were up. Not sure where the morning went, as I was ½ asleep, but by the time desayunos was complete, it was almost siesta time.

Not the best idea to try and get Max to sleep on a full belly and without working off some energy, so we laced up and prowled the CP grounds.

Max had waaay more energia then me, but I kept up and then we headed upstairs for leche y siesta.

A good nap for both of us and then madre took over. The two of them had a great day, but it wouldn’t be honest to say it was the easiest day for madre. Max seems to be expressing himself, both physically and vocally and is not so quiet about it.

He is just a lil’guy and he knows what he wants, but cannot say it, so we get some yelling, some ah ah’ing, some pointing, some red face and some crying...and that's just us!! Kidding!!

We practice our patience and stop to ask Max what he wants or is trying to say, and sometimes that works great. He is awesome at showing us how he hurt himself…doph. Bumped his head here, or got a finger caught here etc.

But tell him he has 5 minutes until we have to leave and then in 5 minutes try to get him to leave? Ahhhhh…no.

And what up with him not responding when we call his name? Oh Max!! So we are thinking that the other names we had chosen for our niño (2 for hija and one more for a hijo), might work out well when we get a perro!! Ja ja ja

After the siesta, Bubba had lunch and then a good workout at el gimnasio. Some sol at the alberca and then it was tiempo to prep para la cena and set up the PM rutina.

All good and during tina time we had another FT con Oma y Opa.

Sounds like Max was a handful during madre’s 30 minutes of bed time…a shame as after I came in to take over, I gave him some agua and he fell asleep!! Lol

So mañana padre will take the first 30 minutes and give Bex a break!! I think since Max was born she has taken the first 30 minutes, so she deserves the break!!

Fotos!!

Max has emptied a storage bin and is debating what to do next. Let's watch and see.

Ah...it was a bunch of acrobatics and now he has pooped himself out!!

Almost too big for this part of the Max y madre rutina...the sink bath despues de comida.

Mañana? Is it viernes already? El Mojon is the plan…fingers crossed. Stay tuned.

Oh, and since today is the end of the month...mañana you will get the results of our average temperatures for febrero!!

Hasta mañana.

Hidden next to this sliding door...our hijo in camo!! "You can't see me!!".

See? Here he is!!

Buenos noches!!

Let’s see…it was a pretty normal day around here.

Max was awake at 530am and madre y Max were both asleep at 745pm!! Oh madre!! Hey, if you can score a short siesta with the lil’snuggler, grab it!!

Normal day…normal rutinas. Nothing special to report there.

Max y madre had playa time and had tons of fun as usual.

I hit up Telmex to pay our bill and then off to Nissan where some good news was had. The filtro de aire I ordered will be in sometime this week and the rubber stopper part number I was given by mi mecanico in Canada, is available in Mexico!!

The price is $434 pesos each, which works out to be about $6 Cdn more then if I bought them in Canada. I am sure someone is making some good loot off these pieces of rubber!!

After Nissan, off to the car wash, which is really a vacant lot with a booth and a tin roof over its 3 wash stalls. The camioneta was pretty dirty inside and out and an hour later and $70 pesos, the truck was spotless.

And all that happened while I was at el gimnasio. After the gym it was off to Che where I scored on a new dish rack which when used at home, promptly showed us where it was cracked and had leaked agua all over the counter y piso!! Doph.

And of course the return policy here is known as the “checkout warranty”…the warranty is over as soon as you checkout. Doph. But Bex went down to the recycling bin and pulled out our old base and we kept the new rack…welcome to Mexico!!

Actually a good shopping day as they had leche fresca, pollo sin piel, cacahuates, y bolsa de basura!! We are stocked up now!!

I was curious to see how many different types of leche are produced by Lala…and holy cow, it turns out to be 15. Fifteen types of milk? Only in Mexico!!

Click HERE and then scroll down to see all the types.

I headed home and had just unpacked when the familia returned from the playa. Time for leche and unpacking and padre went to the camioneta to reinstall the seat cover on the silla de niño…and you might need a college degree to accomplish that!!

Success after 30 minutes and one set of sat on glasses…doph.

Madre was in charge of prepping la cena, the pollo reggianno that I would cook, so the boys headed out for a walk and gave madre some space to work.

A nice walk, a little dancing outside the cantina and then home for eats and the PM rutina. Yummy pollo and then a FT con Oma y Opa during tina time, and you are all caught up.

Fotos.

Prowling around on our AM walk.

Scoping out a loud camion that has just driven by.

Max hears a loud truck and then looks to his padre for an answer as to why it is loud.

But he spots the camera and breaks into a smile.

And then breaks into a run...padre promptly breaks into a chase!!

These next fotos are the affect of all that running around and waking up at 530am!!

Mañana? El gimnasio and we will see what else falls into our laps.

Misc tid bit…

By accident, I ended up buying some imported hecho en USA Cheerios. Muy caro. Did you know that hecho en Mexico Cheerios expand when soaked in leche, while hecho en USA Cheerios shrink when soaked in the same leche? Who knew?

More misc?

New season of Duck Dynasty starts tonight!! Here’s hoping they didn’t “jump the shark” with that last episode from last season..it was baaaaad!!

Last foto.

The boys doing what the boys do best!!

Have a great jueves!!

Buenos noches!!

I am becoming proficient at these short and sweet updates, and hoy is no different.

Ok, let’s see what the top stories on Global News are…killing deer in Victoria and a hockey coach sent to jail for 15 days for tripping players on an opposing team. Yikes.

Our day? The plan had been Mojon…scratch that.

Max decided he would surprise madre and at 5am it was ojo open and time to start the día. Yikes.

The two of them slumbered until 7am and I took over, thinking we have scored for Mojon. Early nap, off to Mojon before noon…naaaah.

Max and I had our desayunos and he wolfed it all back. It was already 915am and his sleep clock was over 4 hours, but I wanted him to get outside before the siesta.

So I carried the lil’12 kiloer and we did a quick walk around the centro and handed out some of the fotos we had printed. The senoras across the street thawed out and actually smiled when they saw the foto we gave them…score!!

Home foe leche y siesta and it was a good one…up at 1230pm. So we were still on schedule for Mojon, leave at 1pm, be there by 130pm.

Ahhhhh no.

When we woke up, madre noticed the lil’man had a infección de ojo…eye infection. Doph.

Bex called Doc Carillo and he had time to see Max right away, so off they went while I puttered around.

The familia returned with eye drops and minus $1000 pesos…doph. Doc Carillo must charge extra for Tuesday citas and the drops were $370…muy caro!!

But by the time they returned, too late for Mojon. Doph. So off to La Bocana where we had a fun couple of hours and watched Max go red face a few times when he struggles trying to carry my mochila, knapsack, by himself.

We are seeing what our lil’man acts like when he gets frustrated and we have some work cut out for us!! Ja ja ja

We headed home, had some alberca time and then it was already time for la cena y the PM rutina. Via FT, it was an hola to mi hermana as well as mi hermano as he was sitting on an airplane ready for take off...and then when tina time was over, off to the recamra.

And what was the Whisperer’s job like today? Well, after madre’s 30minutes were up, I went in and…woke her up!! Nice score, a lil’siesta con the lil’man!!

I transferred the lil’sleeper into his cuna and set him up for the noche.

Currently 830pm and you are all caught up.

Light day on fotos…lo siento.

Moments after landing on the playa, Max was outta there!! Time for the boys to go explore.

And then for padre to chase his hijo...who LOVES walking up ramps. Note the two little amigos watching as we walk away.

Max the pescador, fisherman.

Mañana? Car wash and vacuum!! We had a mechanical issue with the niño silla and when I took the cover off to be washed, I scored on a pile of sand y cheerios!! That and the dirt and salt air is not good on the truck, so off it goes.

I will have the truck washed while I am at el gimnasio and then pit stop at Nissan as I think I finally have the correct part number for the piece I am looking for. I will also see if the filtro de aire that I ordered has arrived. Stay tuned.

Ok, hasta mañana!!

lunes. el 25 de febrero de 2013

Hola hola!!

Must remember to buy a new ventilador for Max’s room. The lil’one we have been using is on its last legs and the lil’man needs his chill down!!

So how is this to end the lil’amigo’s día? The Whisperer goes in to close the show and promptly hoists the lil’12 kilo’er on to his chest.

We have a lay down and within a few minutes all movement stops. A few more minutes and the chupy falls out and hits my chin.

A few more minutes and the lil’dreamer raises his head to confirm where he is, looks around for his chupy, sticks it back in his boca and then falls back asleep.

I lay him in the cuna and tuck him in and ta da.

Now, it sounds all great doesn’t it? But the goal is for him to fall asleep in the cuna, with the last thing he remembers being safe and sound in the cuna…not on padre’s pecho…doph.

Ok…will continue to work on that!! But at least we are not needing to rock him to sleep!!

Almost 8pm and Bex is already hard at work in the oficina, Max is dreaming and I am giving you a quick update before the News starts.

Regular day as planned. The famlia had a great time at the playa and I was glad to make it to el gimnasio.

I did finally make it to Foto Conejo and had some fotos printed. I have a bunch to hand out around La Crucecita and we now have a few more of Max to have around the casa.

Other then that, not much else new.

Fotos.

Pit stop to see the banderas and of course, one of Max's many amigas.

And when visiting, always bring a mutual amigo. Today it was Pedro Pollo.

The lil'man deciding what kind of tlayuda he wants?

Only a few weeks ago, Max would have been muy nervioso walking past this taller. Not sure what has changed, but all is well!!

Mañana…the hope is el Mojon and we will make our decision based on the lil’hombre’s sleep. It is truly best to go after his nap at CP, as he gets a good nap here, but sometimes he (we) do not wake up until 1pm and that makes it a very short afternoon at Mojon. We’ll see how it goes…stay tuned.

Have a great martes!!

Doing some acrobatics in the kiosko!!

Hola hola!!

Currently 840pm and the lil’man is lights out!! He fell asleep con madre…score for padre!! I came in, woke madre up, tucked in the lil’guy and turned on the camera y luz de noche…all good!!

Madre has been sucked in to watching the Oscars and I am setting you up for a brief recap of the day and yes, some fotos of Max.

It was a usual día for us and the boys started it with a great night of sleeping!! Awake at 645am, a small regalo for his padre!!

Great AM rutina and walk, follow that by a super siesta and that was my morning. Bex took over and the familia had a SUPER time at the playa!! Por que? Domingo seems to be familia day at the playa and all those niños loved Max and wanted to be his amigo.

And of course they all wanted to know why his hair is that color and asked what up with a niño con ojo that are not black!! Ja ja ja

My afternoon? On the couch watching the Daytona 500!! It was an exciting race and when it was all done…off to the alberca for some sol. Follow that up with setting us up para la cena which was a rib eye dinner and you are pretty much caught up.

On Bex’s work front? I think next week all the work starts and she will be one super busy artista y madre!!

Fotos.

Check out that smile!! Amazing what a sprinkler can do for a niño!!

And with his bandera ready, we are off for our walk around the centro where we will celebrate Día de la Bandera.

Not the smile you would expect from a lil'níno out celebrating an important date on the Mexican calendar.

Por que? No one, not a single person, was celebrating the day. Some peeps knew about the day while others had no idea. One amigo told me he loved his pais, country, but did not celebrate the día because it was too political.

So...now we know and next year...we will bring our Canadian bandera!!

Mañana? El gimnasio and let’s see what else happens. As for the week? A few trips to Mojon and time to get going on the pasaportes y FM3s!!

Have a great lunes!!

Short and sweet.

A good nights sleep, up at 630am, great AM rutina, great siesta, afternoon con madre and the familia had a great time at the playa and then some alberca time at CP while they waited for padre y la cena.

Me? Great AM rutina, fun walk, great siesta, gym and then some chelas con mi amigo Carlos, the service manager at Nissan.

Carlos does not speak much ingles, and I am cool with that as it makes me work on mi español. The big news from Carlos is that he expects to be a padre in septiembre!! So we spent most of our time talking about niños.

Carlos is 28 years old and has a good, not great, job and is about to become a first time padre and is excited and nervous…hello!!

A good time together and he looks forward to bringing his novia, now his esposa, to Huatulco so Bex and I can meet her. If they hit it off, maybe the 2 madres can become amigas!!

After some chelas I headed home for la cena and the PM rutina, which all went well.

Currently 830pm and all is quiet in the casa!! Max fell asleep promptly…promptly after madre passed him to the Niño Whisperer!!

Slow day for fotos…but here they are.

The Doctor is making house calls before his walk around el centro.

Mañana? It is Día de la Bandera here in Mexico. Click HERE to read more about this important day in Mexico.

And don’t forget to tune in at noon Hux time for the 55th running of the Daytona 500!! Crazy rednecks in Daytona. How do I know? Melon and I went to the Daytona 400…us and 224,998 other beer guzzling peeps!!

Have a great domingo.

Well, it was a great cumpleaños!!

The best part of the day had to be the 2 hour and 45 minute chest nap the lil’man had with his padre!!

I liked the gifts too, and our plan is that we buy gifts for Max as we do not need anything. Max was given a floatie (foto to come) as well flip flops. Me? I still managed to score some chocolate bars, a fat free cake (ya right) and a great foto of Max and myself.

As for our day?

Max slept until 630am and even though it was my birthday and I had the offer of a sleep n, the AM rutina is something I cherish, so I was up at 7am and off the boys went.

The lil’guy ate a HUGE breakfast and then we went out for a long walk. A great walk and Max was exhausted…and we were not even home yet.

So I scooped him up and carried him home, where he was leche’d up and fell asleep with padre.

Only issue with such a great nap? Too late for Mojon. Doph.

So we had some lunch and decided it was a day to stick to the local playas and we went to playa Santa Cruz.

Max wanted to prowl instead of swim, so we let him do that and within 45 minutes, it was all about the ocean.

Nice to see Nathalie from INM, and after watching Max run the playa and running in and out of the oceano, time to go.

Pit stop at Che and then home for a clean up and off for dinner.

Where to? Los Portales which is located right across from the zocalo…nice view. The service has been good, especially as the meseros all know Max, and for $260 pesos, the familia was full!! Good eats y muy barato.

A stroll home, pit stop to pick up an oh so yummy pastel and then home for tina time, a quick FT and then bed time.

Currently 9pm and Bex is doing some work, Max is out and I am watching News and updating you.

Fotos.

Prowling around the 3rd floor landing.

Yes, Max does know where we recycle the bottles and helps carry them downstairs everyday!!

Max is looking for our neighbours, who have packed up and headed home to Germany. They will return next enero.

Check out that styling "walk around town" outfit Max has on.

This niña is 9 months older then Max, but not much taller. Here she is trying to get him to look at the camera by telling him "mirar" which means "to look at".

He would rather see the banderas that are hanging in the restaurante.

Never seen here before..fresh miel being sold. In the case is honey comb dripping with fresh honey...unpasteurized fresh honey.

Oh he makes himself laugh!!

Ah ah...banderas.

Another foto I need to get printed!! Being famoso is getting expensive.

That was his amigo from the fruta y verdura store.

Max in his new floatie...one that he did not like at the playa...but LOVED in the living room!!

At playa Chahue.

Cruise ship pier.

And a little drinking and driving after our time at the playa.

Mañana? Hoping for el gimnasio and planning on meeting Carlos at 2pm for a few día despues de cumpleaños chelas.

Domingo? Maybe Mojon…but there is a race at noon. Dilemma!!

Misc

Thanks for all the birthday greetings!!

Bex made a great banana bread using a recipe from RJ and tweaking it a la Bex!! Thanks for the input RJ…best loaf yet.

Buen fin de semana!!
