“They” said that changing a diaper wouldn’t be so bad because it is your own kids poo. Wouldn’t be so bad is a relative term…are we comparing it to a root canal?

So after 14 months, you learn the tricks of diaper changing. Such as don’t try to figure out when he ate corn or how did it end up from his tail bone to his belly button. And lung capacity? I have been holding my breath so much, I can swim 3 lengths of the pool underwater!!

But all that practice does not get you prepared for when your lil’guy is ill and truly vomits for the first time. We have been lucky in the first 14 months…very little spit up and no real chucking.

All that came to an end after our first siesta. Max stirred, woke both of us up, sat up, made a gurgling noise and then I caught most of it in my hand.

I wanted nothing more then vomit in my hand, but the lil’guy is looking at Dad like an alien has come out of his belly and he needs a strong face from me.

Remember the panale rule…hold your breath. And at the same time tell the lil’man he is ok and also call for madre at the top of your lungs.

So the new plan for the day? Wash all the sheets and the pillow. Madre takes the lil’guy….what is it about madres making lil’ill peeps feel better?

I start the clean up and we do a quick internet search for what to give the lil’patient.

Max needs to be outside, he just feels cooped up when he is in the PP too long. Plan #1 was to go with madre in the camioneta and pick up the bolsa from the tailor. We cancel that plan as we don’t think Max will appreciate getting in and out of his car silla while feeling ill.

And good thing that plan was cancelled!! As he is getting dressed for a walk instead, blech again.

New plan for the day? After the first load of wash is done, time to clean the seat cushion cover from the couch.

Oh, did I tell you the red towel in the first load bled its color and now I have a load of pinks that are being bleached back to blanco.

Max does not like puking…who does? But he is a trooper and madre hits the shower with him for a 2nd time.

I started getting ready for el gimnasio and madre y Max went for a quick walk to pick up some rehydration beverage for Max.

Moments after they returned home…yup, you guessed it.

So I postponed my gym plans and at 3pm we are working very hard on keeping Max hydrated and getting him to fall asleep. He is tired, but is fighting off the sleep. We are all going to need naps after this day!! Ja ja ja

Look at these morning walk fotos. Does he look like he is about to be ill?

As you know, Max loves la puerta.

Hello? Our neighbors from Germany have returned. Hola to some fresh baked goods!!

Outside of a pescaderia.

And after playing with the water meter, we stopped off at the tapiceria and watched the upholsterer at work.

We are NEVER too busy to stop and smell the flores.

First yawn of the día.

Padre!!

Padre sees the sprinkler coming...Max only hears it.

Oh he sees it now!!

And now he feels it!!

And look who came back for a second (and third) look and feel.

755pm update?

Madre has just started the first half (oh please!!) of the tuck in and I am ready to watch the News followed by the second part of the Lance Armstrong interview (after the 2nd half of the tuck in).

Getting closer to saying words? Max knows lots of words in español y ingles, but doesn’t speak them yet.

Tonight we had an early cena for Max and knowing that he wouldn’t fall asleep right away, we took him for a very raro night time familia walk.

And what was he fascinated by? La luna, the moon. So madre practiced with him and he knows where to look when we ask him where la luna is and he almost can say luna!! Of course our niño will say luna before madre, padre or momma or papa!!

How was the afternoon? Tranquilo for all. Max finally took a siesta and I hit the alberca for a little sun.

And after the siesta, the boys went out for a walk and madre set us up for the PM rutina.

Max had not eaten much after desayunos, and most of that had ended up in my hand….doph. So we picked up some pollo and I gave him a taster…and he went nuts. Glad we were close to home and he chowed down with no visible side effects of his upset tummy. Phew.

So, you are all caught up.

No gym and no Mojon work but that is why they call it “mañana”!!

Have a great fin de semana and enjoy NFL domingo!!

Marco, Bexico y Max
