Buenos noches y Feliz Año Nuevo!!

What a fun night the familia had!! We LOVE the NYE Mojon tradition and this year we saw 3 bonfires on the go…some peeps have picked up on a good idea!!

The plan was for Max to grab some zzz before we went to Mojon, sleep in the camioneta on the way and then grab some more while we were on the playa, either in the sling or in the stroller.

How did the plan fare? No sleep before we left, very little in the car and none on the playa. Oh Max!! But he was a trooper and put up only a little resistance until we were just about home. And at 1245am…code red!!

Cannot blame him as he was 4.5 hours over due for bed time…but we only do this once a year so we move on.

Now why did Max not sleep on the playa? It was a ¾’ish luna last night and it was almost as bright as day. Then throw in a bonfire and the occasional firework…and the lil’guy wasn’t going to sleep.

Here are the Mojon fotos.

Would have turned out better with a tripod, but you will get the idea about how bright it was on the playa last night.

Our 3rd annual Mojon bonfire.

Max did not care for the red rockets, but did enjoy the three 20 shot missiles and at media noche...teh one with 200 shots!!

So Max was asleep by 115am’ish, I took the night shift and managed to tanque him up at 530 and get almost another 2 hours of sleep with him. But at 715am…up and at em.

Normal AM rutina, but the town is deserted today. On Navidad, all tiendas are open and there were a ton of tourists. Hoy? Most places were closed and it looked like everyone stayed home to nurse their hangovers!!

During our walk, Max joined a choir. Huh? We strolled the big iglesia and it was starting to fill up. Max was prowling and all of a sudden from the front pews, a lil’person let out a ah ah. Then a few rows back, another niño joined in and after a few rounds of that…Max joined in and let’s just say he had no problem letting his voice be heard above the other niños. Oh Max.

Not sure where we stand in the good book…so we were outta there. Ja ja ja.
Max y padre had a GREAT 2 hour siesta and then he hung out with his madre and they too had a 2 hour siesta, so we think he is almost all caught up from the sleep he missed last night.

And we too are almost caught up!!

No el gimnasio today, cerrado, so I puttered around and while the familia napped, I sat in the sol for a while. Another reason the town is so quiet…everyone was in the CP alberca!! There must have been 50 peeps there and I did my best, but after a while all the smoking, drinking and listening to peeps complain about the HOA…I was adios.

Max and I did head back after his siesta, and the alberca was deserted with most peeps just hanging around.

Max went BONKERS in the pool…splashing non stop for around 20 minutes plus!!

Madre came down to collect us and off we went for la cena and the PM rutina. Bubba chili for dinner…oh oh. Ja ja ja

During the tina, a good FT con Max’s abuleos and at 740pm, madre is leching up the lil’guy and I will close the show in about 20 minutos.

Rest of the fotos.

From our walk ayer...

I was hoping he would wear them two days in a row...but no such luck. But he does look good with the glasses eh?

Working on some ingles with Joshue, hermano de Daniel.

Pancho y tío Vicky.

Today, Max was given this regalo by some peeps that we don't know very well, but who we always see on our AM walk and with whom we always stop to say hola. They are a mid 50 couple, with grown niños of their own, but LOVE Max.

That is the kind of place Huatulco is. Gifts from basically strangers, but peeps we took the time to meet and say hola to. Vida es buena.

Mañana? Vacunas are supposed to be back in stock, so we will get up waaaay too early and be in line at 715am’ish. Then we will continue our day.

Probably get back into our rutina and head to Mojon on jueves.

Misc

Start of a new month…I know you are aching to know the temperatures from diciembre…so here they are.

We averaged highs of 31,4 vs 31,1 from 2011 and we averaged lows of 24,5 vs 23,9 in 2011. So overall, slightly warmer trend during both the day and night.

As for what to expect in enero, last year we saw average highs of 31,3 and lows of 24,1, so pretty much the same as what we just experienced in December. Three more months and then the humido will kick in…doph.

Have a great miercoles!!

Marco, Bexico y Max
