Buenos noches mis amigos!! That foto was of Max this morning, just chilling in the zocalo.

Currently 825pm and a lil’NFL on the tele, Max is asleep…about to need some agua in 15 minutes, and madre is at work in the oficina. (930pm...no need for agua yet!!)

Not too much to report from Huatulco….other then we all had a great day.

One day we will figure out why Max wakes up at 5am…maybe we will have to wait for him to be old enough to tell us himself?

The tiendas in town that sell regalos para niños, are all hopping busy today. Por que? Mañana is Día de los Reyes…Day of the Kings.

A few weeks ago, mi padre asked me if it felt like Christmas here in Huatulco and the answer is really no. We see a few lights, a few stores sold regalos and arbol de Navidad (oh yes…arbol de Navidad) and of course the large fake tree was up in the zocalo.

It felt more like Christmas because the Canadians were piling into CP, the turismo buses full of Chilangos were coming in from DF and because Che was running out of food.

But Mexicans here really don’t celebrate Christmas except for the religious aspect. What they really celebrate is Día de los Reyes.

Here are two short reads on the day, some interesting info.

Good AM rutina and a fun walk as always. Good siesta, but not a long one. No second siesta for me…I am on the mend. Max and I grabbed some meds from Simi and the stomach bug should be adios soon.

So for maybe the second time this week, I went to el gimnasio and had a short session. Yeu y Victor were there, it would have been nice to work out, but I stuck to some light cardio to get back into the swing of things.

While I was at the gym, the familia was at playa Chahue and I swung by to say hola.

I knew I was at the right place.

How does Max meet peeps? Tap heads, wave hola, sit on them and sometimes just pour water on them.

And then the crowds gather and it becomes a question and answer session...all about Max.

Max heard me going "psssst" and looked around and around until he spotted me upstairs.

I helped them pack up and they took the bici home for siesta #2 and I
stopped into Che for a quick shopping trip…hola to leche fresca!!

An afternoon watching football, followed by la cena and the PM rutina and you are all caught up.

We are thinking mañana is a Mojon día and thinking we can be home in time to watch the Seahawks beat the Redskins!!

Here are a few more fotos from the día, some from the AM walk and then the Cream Cheese series.

The 15 people watching and listening to this familia, were all laughing and pointing once the lil'guy started going Gangnam style, and even more now that Max knows how to clap and actually applauded the family when they were finished!!

Child labour is an issue here, but it is looked at as a cultural thing. This niña is selling Rosca de Reyes for mañana.

Click HERE if you need a refresher on Rosca de Reyes.

Now, is there anything cuter then a niño with cream cheese on his face?

Cut himself shaving? Naaah...his NYE scrapes are still healing....oh padre!!

New passport foto!!

Have time for a Max short story? Read on.

After dinner on NYE, we go to the Italiano gelato shop and grab madre a treat. The 2 senoritas that work there, know us as regular clients, and LOVE Max, so we get a warm greeting.

Madre gets her eats and then the senorita working comes over to say hola to Max who has been waving at her. Now this Italian senorita happens to have a large’ish mole (skin growth and not the Oaxacan treat) on her head and you might know where this story is heading.

I am holding Max, he reaches out and yup, push starts the mole. You know, like hitting a doorbell. The senorita chuckles and says to him in español, yes, there is a second moon.

Oh Max…he’s not timido!! Ja ja ja

Have a great domingo!!

Marco, Bexico y Max
