Buenos noches!!

You CAN teach an old dog new tricks!! Knowing we need to be in line early for Max’s vacunas, padre went by himself at 705am’ish and madre y Max had some desayunos at the condo and then made the 15 minute walk to be at the hospital for 8am sharp.

So what did the waiting room look like at 710am? Full of very sleepy looking madres, padres y niños. Dude, I was there at 710am…what time did you guys get here?

No action until 730am so the amor de casa waited with the madres until the friendly nurse arrived and then all heck broke loose. For you Canadians, it was like Boxing Day at Future Shop. For our American amigos, it was like Black Friday at Best Buy. Crazy.

But all the amiga wanted was to look at everyone’s cartilla (vacuna pasaporte) and let each person know what vacunas were available.

Good news for us was that Max would get 2 out of 3 vacunas and when we had the nurse alone for his shots, we would follow up in regards to the 3rd shot.

Right after the mayhem of the cartilla check, the nurse hands out numbers and give it to the groups we have dealt with at the hospital, no one butts in line.

Everyone know who was there first and I figured we were 7 or 8th and no one complained when I took #8 and headed outside to wait for the familia.

The vacunas start at 8am and if there is a doctor and the nurse, it is fairly fast. Hoy…the nurse was alone.

The familia arrived and we took turn chasing Max as he prowled the small hospital. We made not that not one other niño was even moving at that time of the morning, let alone looking at every door, into every oficina and trying to touch every garbage can.

The wait wasn’t too long and around 9am we were in the oficina. Bottom line on the vacuna #3…not in stock and since it wasn’t, we would have to wait 30 days because the hospital will not give out vacunas with less then 30 days inbetween.

Max could have had all 3 today if they were available, but alas, we will be back on Feb 14 for one, and then April 14 for another and May 14 for his last set of shots!! Phew.

How was the lil’trooper? Antsy by the time we got into the oficina, and a little more unnerved then usual when the shots were delivered (one in each thigh), but 5 minutes later, no more crying and as per usual, during the day he showed no side effects such as fiebre, fever.

Home by 915am’ish and after some leche, it was an easy peasy nap for the boys.

Madre had her own cat nap and then headed off to el dentista to get some work done. Results? It took almost 2 hours, but the dentist did a great job and Bex is happy with the work as well as how thorough he was in the work and explaining what he was doing step by step.

Meanwhile, the boys finished their 90 minute siesta, had a walk and then came home to east comida.

Madre returned, frozen lips and all, and off the familia went to the alberca while padre got ready for el gimnasio.

Not much to say about my afternoon, tranquilo would best describe it. But I am happy to report that Amy from Vitel has expressed his remorse about the “incident” and we are all amigos again.

The incident? Amy driving away with Max in his Vitel camion for 6 or 7 minutes vs the one minute I had said was ok. Max came back VERY upset and that made me angry for a few days.

Now over 2 weeks later, Amy drives up next to me as I am walking home from el gimnasio and he asks if we are still amigos, or can be amigos again.

I very clearly explained why I was so pissed off and we agreed that familia is primero, #1, and since he had made our hijo so upset, that was unacceptable.

He understood and was happy to bury the hatchet. I too am glad as the boys are nice guys and I much rather be amigos with everyone vs have problems with any of them.

After the gym, some sol at the alberca, which has been deserted for the past few days.

After siesta #2, Max y madre went for a walk, padre cleaned up the casa and got it ready for la cena and the PM rutina.

Good dinner and we managed a FT before tina time…and then Max decided not to fall asleep. Doph. Good news is that he is understanding more and more and when I told him to lay down as it was sleepy time, he actually paid attention.

But he just cannot close the deal by himself and because he was soooo tired, he became PG. Currently 915pm and madre has gone in to close the show…a show that started at 725pm. Yikes.

Based on the late bed time, it probably means the lil’guy will be tired mañana, so we will have to see how the day plays out. Definitely a few Mojon days this week.

Talking Mojon, I sent Roman an email asking for an update. I heard back that the costings are done and sit with the jefe for approval. It shouldn’t be long now. Stay tuned.

After pool time, Max likes to stretch his legs by prowling the grounds. Madre's job is to keep up!!
