Hola mis amigos.
As promised….click HERE for your refresher on Día de los Muertos.
It is a strange time as
Halloween is not really celebrated here, but we do see some costumes, and then
there are these ceramic calabaza on the side of the road.
Ok, our day?
Great day that started a
little later, 645am.
Max was a tad wacky this
morning, we had the opportunity to eat desayunos early and go for our walk, but
noooooo.
Once in the highchair, he
wanted nothing to do with eating. A Van-Arnold niño not wanting to eat.
Something not right with that picture!! Ja ja ja
So out of the chair we go
and as he lapped the room, I would get him to take a spoonful of cereal. Hey,
it worked…and we cannot go walking on an empty stomach!!
Good walk and after
extensive training during the morning, he was using his “oh-oh” words. Yup, he
knows how to say oh-oh. Hilarious and even better when he dropped it with his
madre.
Good nap and after that it
was lunch and I even made it to el gimnasio. Phew. Good to get back but still
not 100%...no complaining.
Funny story…I was walking
past Raphael’s shop and there was a Santa Cruz taxi getting worked on. The
taxista said hola to me, so I stopped and we chatted.
He asked how my hijo
was…hilarious. He did not know Max’s name, but he has seen us park the
camioneta and then walk to the playa. It IS a small town!!
When I got home, the
familia was in the midst of siesta #2 and when they awoke…off to the playa!!
The usual fun times and we
saw Sandra from INM. She takes a foto through her oficina window (not a bad
gig) and then comes out to say hola. She tells us she has sent her madre the previous fotos of Max, and her madre loves them.
Then she takes a foto of
my Hecho en Mexico tattoo, because I guess her madre did not believe her that I
had one. Ja ja ja
Home, la cena, PM rutina
and you are caught up.
Fotos.
Oh the lil'mono (monkey) is trying to get to the iPod.
At least this time, he managed to get out from under the bed without getting stuck!!
Canadian Tire to the left and Ikea to the right.
Just getting ready for Max's fiesta...hola to some Modelo!!
Mañana…gym and I want to
see what the fiesta site looks like at 1pm as we are nervous it will be too
hot. Doph. We liked Pucks due to the coverage, TVs and ventiladors and we liked
the 2nd choice because it was still outdoors. But we may end up in
our 3rd choice due to the sol. Stay tuned.
Have a great weekend and
for our amigos in Vancouver, stay dry and for our Ontario amigos, we hope you miss
the big storm.
Buen fin de semana.
Marco, Bexico y Max
