Hola!!

645pm and here is the update.

Not too much new here. Bexico has been very busy with work and had a Skype with dos hombres from New Jersey. They have paid her to draw up a “rough” of an idea they have, and if they like it, they will get her to do the complete piece. Not a big contract, but one that Bexico likes to complete.

She is also plugging away at her “health angel” animation. Non-stop for her and it keeps the days busy.

And an update from only moments ago? This same client loves Bexico's work and work ethic, and wants to discuss a 4th project with her. He has asked if she can commit to 20-30 hours a week on his projects alone!! Muy exciting!!

Me? My regular schedule and that is fine with me. Proxima semana we have Elektra, una cita médicos (doctors appointment) y inmigracion on the schedule, so it will be a busy week.

Ayer (yesterday) was stinking hot all day long. Only 35,8 grados, but humido was also high. It was actually too hot to float in the pool. Who knew? Ahora (now), it is a cool 33,4 grados!!

Our clima ayer.

El sol y mucha nube.

And hoy.

Now that was a blue sky!! In español, mainly sunny is called nubes y claro, clouds and clear.

We have been quite lucky the past 4 or 5 days, as we have managed to have mainly sunny days. Knock wood, but this thing known as the “rainy season”, hasn’t been so bad.

Great day at el gimnasio and Fermin tells me that proxima viernes, is actually Dia del Taxis in all Oaxaca, not just the city of Oaxaca. He owns and drives a taxi, and on Friday he will have it all decorated and then blessed at the iglesia. I hope to be able to catch some fotos…stay tuned.

Fotos…

The joys of not having a secadora.

Not a far walk to the lavenderia, but it is hot!! $10 pesos a kilo…muy barrato…cheap.

As for the secadora in G10, no luck yet finding a repair shop…but I haven’t tried too hard yet.

A Tuesday special.

I will leave it up to you to figure it out. But it is only $239 pesos…$20.42 Cdn ($20 Cdn before the US and now Global issues).

Yes it is miercoles and yes it is 2 for 1 night at the cine. But there is nothing good playing. This is what we are waiting for.

Hello Johnny English y Bexico!! Did you hear Rowan Atkinson (aka Mr Bean aka Johnny English) crashed his $1 million sports car?

Based on their colorful ropa and how tall these doe senoritas are, you can tell they are indigenous Mexicans.

The window in Bexicos oficina.

And a close up of the bee’s nest. It is now 6 inches across, up from 5 inches only a few days ago.

We go through 3 of these a weeks.

This garrafon is ready to be replaced with a full one, with our $24 pesos ($19 plus tip) on top. We were in the alberca today and we saw a agua hombre walk by with a 19 litro garrafon on his shoulder. Up to J10 we saw him go and then he came back down, sin agua.

We did not know who he was bringing water to, but we told him we were looking for one at G10 and he went back up to J10, grabbed his agua and then went up to G10. Felt a little sorry for him…but come on!! In 35 grado heat, get the edificio correct!! Ja ja ja

Remember that little ferreteria (hardware store) that opened on Carrizal?

It too is now gone.

I love these guys and their camion.

Wonder how they got into this business?rt

Life here is truly a balancing act.

Ja ja ja

This hombre was trying to sell pequeñas bolsas de manzanas.

And these too cheerful hombres were selling “herbs”, garlic y madera (wood)?

This is a new amigo. You have seen his foto before.

Todo dias (everyday) we say hola and every day he asks me for his foto to be taken. He told me he sells maybe 50 coco frios every day.

And last but not least, for you Stu.

Gata Negro. It has been confirmed she is a gata…not a gato. Looks like she needs a diet?

No walk through town, but we did have some great alberca time. It does seem that D-weed seems to beat us to the pool by 20 minutes and we have to wait for him to finish his cigar.

We were thrilled ayer, when his esposa came over and while trying to be friendly (I think), told us that we looked like dead fish. And then topped that off by saying she enjoyed how quiet Condo Pacifico is right now, until the Canadians arrive in November. My reply? “Until the REST of the Canadians arrive”…and that seemed to end the conversation. Ja ja ja

8pm…tiempo para la cena.

And compliments of Daniel at Gabriel the Owls, here is wikipedias information about a cultural event in Oaxaca (city) that occurs on annually on the dos primeros lunes después de 16 de julio (the first two Mondays after July 16). It is a quick read…quite interesting.

And here is a video clip from this year’s event. The iglesia in this video, is one that we walked by several times in the zocalo of Oaxaca.

We loved Oaxaca and once they have the new highway built, we will go back often.

And now that you have been culturally enriched,

Hasta luego amigos.
