Happy, happy, happy.
Buenos noches!! Max was happy...but was VERY thirsty at 4am. Yikes...2 bottles of leche, some vigorous rocking and an hour later, Bex had him back to sleep...until 615am.
We wouldn't call that a successful night, but we are not ready to blame it on our plan to move Max's sleep time later, in the hopes of having a smooth time change on Saturday night.
Max was lights out at 815pm last night, only 30 minutos later then normal...tonight will be the test. If he has a crappy sleep tonight as well, we will stick to our usual rutina and bite the bullet on Sunday morning. Stay tuned.
Bex had the early shift and Bubba took over around 7am. The boys headed out, had their prowl and then came home for desayunos. It was a Che day, so after breakfast, we loaded up and made the run. Max was sooo well behaved today...the past few times he has been so full of energy that I had to lasso him in the cart.
Loaded up on some carnes, cheddar cheese and also bought 2 Christmas platos, plates. They must have been designed in Mexico and hecho en chino as they say "Happy Christmas" and "Ho Ho" on them. They are to be used for Santa and his reindeer's cookies. Oh yes...exciting times (seriously) are coming soon!!
We have always had a tree and Max likes the lights. This year we will have the tree up Dec 1 or so, and then will tell Max about Santa on Dec 23. Any earlier and we will not hear about anything else!! Momma y Poppa are very excited about this Navidad!!
Bed time update...lights out after only a few minutos con Poppa!! Currently 830pm and I am sharing the 26,0 grado chill room as Max is fast asleep!! Score!!
Back to the day.
Post Che, it was leche y siesta and even though he was pooped from the so so night, he was asleep at 11am'ish and wide awake at 1pm. Shorter siesta then we would have liked for him (and me?), but maybe that is why he fell asleep so easily tonight.
After the siesta, I shaved (usually around the 25th) and got ready for el gimnasio. Bex y Max took the camioneta verde out for a spin and stopped into DHL to ask the dumb a**es why the package from Oma y Opa left Huatulco, went to Oaxaca and is now in DF.
The hombre behind the counter was pretty nonchalant about it until Bex mentioned that I had been in there a few days ago and had ensured they had our correct address. Bex says he looked a little sheepish and then said we should see our package on lunes. Wanna bet? Stay tuned.
They came home, sat in the truck and honked the horn for 10 minutes, and then headed in for their comida. After lunch they hopped on the bici and checked out a new Play Palace and then hit the playa.
I was off to el gimnasio and then on the way home, I ran into Raphael, a mecanico I know. He has set me up with some producto that should clean the fuel injectors without having to remove them. Good thing as my Nissan guy in Vancouver confirmed that the turbo charger would have to be removed (new gaskets etc) to get to the injectors.
When Raphael and I talk, most of it is en español, but car parts in ingles are waaaay easier for me to remember. His ingles is very good as he spent some time norte, in the USA.
As we chatted, we saw a stray dog and he asked me for the translation as en español, on of the translations is vagabundo. Who knew?
Might get the injectors cleaned mañana....stay tuned.
I headed home and did the usual rutina, clean up and get la cena ready for cooking and tonight it was cerdo, but not quite a lomo. I had asked for lomo with a little more grasa in it, as the last one was dry. They gave me one that was called cerdo maciza, which translates into "solid".
It had more grasa on it and most of that cooked off and into the cerdo and was yummy!! Throw in some of Bubba's papas puree and dinner was served!!
The familia returned from their adventures, cleaned up, leche'd up and then it was time to eat.
Great dinner...too much laughing with a mouth full caused a small scare for us, but Max shrugged it off and kept going. He is a trooper.
Off to tina time, FT con Oma y Opa and then bed time...and you are all caught up.
Onto the fotos!!
Headed down calle Carrizal as the sun rises.
We did not get far as Max turned around, walked back a few paces and promptly sat down to eat his Cheerios.
Not as many Cheerios were eaten today, as he wanted his galletas animales, animal crackers. But they are caramel flavor and I am not sure how often we should be letting him eat those!!
Parked on the calle was a truck and the hombres were lugging into the posada, big bales of something wrapped in plastico. They were walking behind me so as to not interfere with the fotos, and Max was keeping his ojos on them.
But finally he could not sit still any longer and had to see where these bales were going.
Off to the front of the school and here we see Max prowling in front of some senoras who have set up some breakfast to sell to the niños.
Spot the Max.
Poste, pole.
On the way to el gimnasio, I spotted this fellow. He would not be safe in the montañas, as they eat them there.
If I lugged chairs around trying to sell them, and needed a break, I would take advantage of my product.
I saw this niño who was taking great pride and care of his brood.
A rough life for the niño and his tortilla eating mascotas.
All I can say about the next foto is that the niño is carrying a box full of dulces, candies, on his back, and maybe the senora should read THIS article.
A few tina time fotos?
And we end the fotos with Max's first "published" art work. He has drawn a Cheerio, a vaca, a perro and a gato.
Don't forget the race is on domingo at 1130am Huatulco time!!
Buen fin de semana!!
Marco, Bexico y Max
