Hola hola!!

Well...the time change went off very successfully!! Max was lights out at 815pm, slept in his cuna the complete noche, woke up only once and was up for good at 615am. Roll the clock back one hour and it was 515am...yikes. lol

But waaaaay better then 4am!!

And what did I get woken up to? "Poppa, kiss" followed by "Poppa, hug" and then "mas tickles". What a tonto niño!!

What was the one hic-cup that we had not paid too much attention to? Max's cue for going for a walk, has always been when el sol comes up. It was always dark when he woke up and the daylight arrived around 715am. Today? 615am...yikes.

So I set the alarm on my watch for 7am and I managed to nurse Max through the extra 45 minutos and the second the alarm went, we were out the door for our prowl. I am sure that I will be using the watch alarm again...and again...and again!!

To get back on schedule, Max is having his siesta right now and hopefully it is a nice and long one. I expect he will wake up around 1 or 130pm, we will have la cena at 530pm and then have him in bed and lights out at 745pm. We have been happy with the 10 hours of sleep and the 6am wake ups...stay tuned!!

As for the AM prowl, surprisingly, it was a busy morning around La Crucecita. I am fairly confident that many peeps did not know about the time change as many taller y restaurantes, that are normally cerrado at that time of the morning, were open.

Due to the early wake up, no swim was planned, but that also means a longer prowl. And with the time change, el sol is up and the suntan lotion was on the lil'man!!

Great prowl...fotos to follow, and then home for a grande desayunos. A little wacky as Max was jonesing for the pan frances, so after only a little bit of his fruta, it went back into the fridge and out came the huevos.

Cooking is no longer a quick task as all you hear now a days is "see", as Max wants to see everything you are doing. Bring out fry pan, see, bring out huevos and margarina, see, crack huevos into bowl and add leche, see...etc etc.

But it is fun (and tiring) and after whipping up some pan frances, we dip dipped and then had some huevos and I managed to get him to finish his fruta using the art of distraction!! Max, draw me a picture of a gato, and by the way, open your boca for some piña. Score!!

Madre took over post desayunos and as I cleaned up, the two of them read some books and practiced self-defense. Doph.

Off for leche and siesta, Bubba set the PVR for the race and ta-da.

Currently 1120am...a little browsing and then off for a siesta with mi hijo. Score!! I will finish this up tonight.

Hasta pronto.

It was an interesting siesta!! Once during the nap, Max sat up and looked at me typing away. I patted his pillow, he put his head down and he was lights out. At 1230pm, waaaay to early to be done napping, he sat up and said done.

He did not want to be held, but I told him I would sing him Gilligan and ta-da...we were both lights out again. Score!! I was awake 45 minutes later, unlike the lil'man who slept until 130pm...a good 2.5 hour nap!!

The lil'guy bolted up and started laughing. We talked about stretching after a siesta and then Max went about showing me his best stretch. He does not always like having his panale changed (he deems it a waste of his time), but tell him you have a sorpresa for him, and he will lay down.

Change the panale and whisper whisper into his ear..."what day is it?". He says domingo and you then ask him what we do on domingo and his ojos open wide and he said "race". He scrambled off the bed, ran into the sala and grabbed the 2 TV remotes. After giving them to me, he plopped himself on the couch and patiently waited.

A few minutos of the race and then due to beautiful weather, it was tiempo para familia swim. Score!!

And the best part of our recent swims? Seeing Max improve his swimming skills every day!! Ayer, we managed to completely let go of Max while we were in the deep end, and he managed to stay afloat for a second or two. What was great to see was that when he did go under, he wasn't scared as he knew we were there and we have been doing this for almost 2 years.

Today he did even better in the deep end, almost treading water. In the area that has a banco, seat, built in, he jumps off the seat, into the deeper end and he will actually swim for a few seconds before he puts his feet down. Madre y padre are VERY proud of the lil'man!!

I left the familia in the alberca and made my way upstairs...hey, it is race domingo!! ja ja ja

A little race and then the familia returned...and the lil'man, the chameleon, has changed his demeanor and is for lack of words...a lil'wacky. He did not want a single bite of his comida and the only thing he wanted to do was stand on his blue bins in front of the sink, and wash dishes. Doph.

So off to the club y playa Chahue Max y Bex went, and had a great time. Of course they did!!

Poppa spent the afternoon watching most of the race, and at 730pm I am looking forward to the last 65 laps...post bed time of course. A little clean up and some cena prep and that was my tranquilo afternoon.

The familia returned in time for some leche and oven roasted rib-eyes...yummy...and then we were off to tina time, the FT con Oma y Opa and round one of bed time is under way.

Our post tina rutina has always included Poppa reading some books to Max and then passing him over to madre. We used to turn off the lights right away and Bex y Max would start leche in the dark. But we changed that because Bex was falling asleep. Naaaaah. We found that 15 minutes with the lights on and then 15 in the dark, made it much easier for Max to fall asleep once The Whisperer came in to close the show. It has worked the past few nights...stay tuned.

Onto the fotos.

From this mornings prowl, Max is cooling down while looking at an air con unit next door. Not sure why, but he has always been interested in them.

Pit stop at his new scratching poste/arbol.

Adjust the gorra, and we are off.

Ooops, more adjusting and then we are off.

Cheerios and a water meter...so far, a good prowl.

Being careful to not touch the pika from the alambre de puas...now that is a mouthful.

And this is what he was pointing at...el gallo!! The owner is a friendly hombre who brought the rooster over for Max to touch. He made sure to tell us "no pika" (pikazón), his rooster would not peck Max.

El sol is shining over the parque where the "enfermo" (drunks) hang out.

What are all these peeps waiting for? A bus?

Nope. Camion de basura and here it comes. Can you imagine having to get out of bed and bring your garbage to the curb...AND throw it in the truck yourself?

I heard the Soriannas will be open mid-noviembre. It is domingo and they are still hard at work constructing the building.

Max wanted me to take a foto of the palomoas.

This is the display window on the muy caro (expensive) surf shop. Spanish lesson of the día?

Sale. Goodbye to summer. But seriously...now is when all the tourists arrive, why have a 40% discount sale?

The Mexicans love to protest and or demonstrate. I am not sure what this was about, but a large group had gathered in the zocalo.

These are some fotos from ayer.

Max is digging this arbol in the CP parking lot.

The arrows point the way.

Ok, here is THE moto.

Max is VERY scared of the moto and/or the owner of it. When he walks up to the bike, all is good. The other day when I carried Max to the owner, Max gave him "knuckles"...all was good.

But when the hombre limps out towards his bike, Max is freaked out and almost starts crying. He grabs my legs and then wants "arriba", up. His heart is pounding and he is almost trembling.

It is a loud bike, but other then that, we are not sure what is up. The past 2 times we have seen the hombre, I have grabbed Max and we sit on the curb across the street from the CP gates and watch the hombre wheel his moto through the gates, start it, wave adios and then take off.

This has helped and yesterday we went to touch the moto, to show Max that all is well. Stay tuned.

And on another moto, Max y Silverio, one of Max's biggest admirers here at the CP.

Max making a break for the panificadora.

And making a break back to his Poppa. Por que?

"People".

Some Fonatur workers giving the mower a pit stop in the zocalo.

Not sure what was going on, but the camionetas are from Comex, the local paint store, and many of the peeps milling about were bomberos, firemen.

Misc

Gracias to Max's abuela RJ for sending him some college pesos for his cumpleaños!!

First, a finger in the dyke? And now THIS? The Dutch are one talented nation!! Thank you to Opa for the wacky clip.

Adios to Lou...took my GPZ out for a ride....

Last foto of the día. With the time change, el sol is up earlier and it is warmer an hour earlier. Hats, sun tan lotion and lots of agua are in order.

Ok, have a great lunes!!

Hasta mañana.

Marco, Bexico y Max
