Buenos noches!!
Currently 730pm and we are 1/2 way through round one of bedtime. We have been go go go since we all met back for leche y clean up.
We ate our burgers, did some clean up and headed out the door for our 6pm cita con el doctora.
And lucky for us, the heavy downpour had stopped. Not lucky for us was that it must have been 85% humido as we walked to the doctor...mucha calor!!
Why the pediatra? We wanted to have Max's 2 year check up and we have some concerns about a luna, mole, on Max's arm, that has gotten bigger. He also seems to have some bug bites on his leg and we have been concerned about how hot he always seems to be.
Good news? We are getting cream for the bug bites, niños are typically hot due to their metabolism and the doctor is not worried about the mole.
The so-so news? She says we should get it looked at by an expert, just to be sure, and there are no experts within 5 hours of Huatulco.
Good news? She has an amiga who is a dermatologist for niños, and if she comes to visit, our doctor will make sure she looks at Max.
Bex and I will chat it up as there is no easy solution, but there is only one answer...what ever is in the best interest of the lil'man.
We make sure Max has lots of lotion on, even for the AM prowl, and as you can tell by how fair he still looks, we are doing a good job with that. Stay tuned.
Some Max numbers? At 2 years old, he is tipping the scales at 14.1 kilos and is 87cm tall. How does this relate to the average niño? He is bang on at the 50th percentile for height and is in the 90th percentile in weight. Not worried about that as he is one stocky niño!!
Fun doctor story? Max and I are prowling and Bex is talking up the doctor (great español Bex!!) and the doctor has forgotten to tell her what Max needs for his bug bites. Por que? Because she said she was so enamoured with him!!
He was such a good patient and impressed the doctor with his words in ingles y espanol, how silly he is and when he said adios. Score!!!
And how fun was the walk home from the doctor? Max was having a hoot being out and about at 645pm and as his padres followed him to Oxxo and then home, all we heard was laughing and chuckling. What a lil'man!!
As for the rest of our day, a usual day. Max had a good sleep and for the first time in a while, he actually slept the night in his cuna...on Bex's shift. Oh he loves his Momma, and somehow usually manages to convince her that he needs to sleep with her!!
And...no leche request at 4am...score!!
Poppa took over at 7am and the boys had their usual rutina of prowl and desayunos. We managed to squeek in some familia swim time, but might have pushed it by 15 minutos too long, as Max started to show his tiger stripes as he was having his leche.
He won't fall asleep and didn't want to be rocked to sleep...oh Max.
A great siesta...it might have been too long and we will see if that affects tonight's bed time. Light out at 11am and he did not wake up until 2pm. Wow!! I piggybacked on this siesta, but only for 90 minutos!!
We woke up to hear voices coming from the sala, living room and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a nice package of clothes and such for Max. These came from an amiga, Roseanne, who has arrived back at the CP for a vacation. Muchos gracias.
I headed off to el gimnasio and then home for the set up, while the familia had their comida and then were off to playa Santa Cruz for a fun filled afternoon.
We met back at home, and you know the rest of our día.
Fotos.
Sprinkler miercoles.
Max is working his way down the line.
Overcast skies above Max's alberca.
Testing the temps for our familia swim...and el sol came out for the swim!!
Come on Poppa...time for the prowl.
A Día de los Muertos altar has been set up in the zocalo.
Max helping madre make their comida.
From my walk to el gimnasio and I am passing a newly built Oxxo, the Mexican 7-11. It looks like CFE is doing some electrical work.
This looks unique.
As does the grounding of the wires...doph.
Let the animales out of their cage!!
With Día de los Muertos coming soon, peeps are stocking up on their sugar cane, used in displays.
I am told it is used as a sweet item to offer to the departed....dead peeps.
As for last night, movie night was a success in the sense that we spent some QT together...and almost uninterrupted. Max did sit up once, but by the time I got into his recamara, he was laying down and 30 seconds later...lights out.
As for the movie...Academy Award for Meryl Strep was deserved...but the rest of the movie was a yawner for us. We did not know we would be seeing Margaret Thatcher go loony...we don't need a movie to see loonie people in our casa!! ja ja ja
Mañana? Happy Halloween to all of you that celebrate this day!! Not much happens here, but Max did get invited to an escuela for a little trick or treating at 9am. Super Max might have to make an appearance. Stay tuned!!
Last foto of the día...a rare foto of the complete family.
Hasta mañana!!
Marco, Bexico y Max
