And as Max prepares to break the bloque de hielo, psyching himself up to use only his forehead....

Buenos noches and welcome to No Fall Friday!! Yippee!!

Bubba was awoken at 430am by the small temblor, tremor, and then at 530am by the sound of Max throwing around his mascota, Chica, and then at 645am when Bex told Poppa it was "time for walk"!!

But the good news is that Max slept from 8pm until 530am, in his cuna and  with only one or two agua pit stops!! Score.

Usual day for us but the 3 hour siesta cut into afternoon playa time. Bex y Max had a Play Palace date with an American woman and her 2 year old niña, so after the siesta, it was a prowl and then while Bubba was off at the gym, they all went off to be social!!

Max is super friendly and I guess the niña is not quite used to that yet. Oh there were tears, and not Max's, but the mother asked that Bex y Max give her daughter time to warm up to Max (or is that thaw out...oh Bubba!!).

Anyway, Max had fun and we had a very normal día with him. During the AM prowl he was VERY aware of his walking and we practiced picking up our feet and watching where we walk. Phew.

Good cena, easy tina time, with a FT con Oma y Opa and at 8pm, Max is on round one of bed time. Buen suerte madre...good luck.

Onto some fotos.

With a zoned out stare like that, you'd think he had been smoking some other type of leaf. Oh Max.

Hey...no gato fotos today...but here come the bloque de hielo fotos!!

We met these niños and their abuelo and we had a nice chat. The niña is 6 and the niño, only slightly taller then Max, is 4. When I told the abuleo that Max was 21 months old, his jaw dropped and he just said "gigante".

The abuleo, who is maybe 50, laughed when I told him I was 48 and Max was my first niño...and that in Huatulco, normally 48 meant you were an abuelo.

Bedtime update? It was like MMA tonite...Mixed Martial Arts, the bedroom was "the octagon"...and Max would NOT tap out and fall asleep!!

But the best part of my day was that at the end of it all, Max fell asleep, on his own, while laying next to his padre and in my arms. Score!!

Back to the fotos, and Max is again waiting for the familia swim.

Ever see a niño try to reach his ring...this way? The old, through the legs trick, eh Max?

And from the gym walk...el perro. I think he is a Sheep Dog with one very short haircut.

First the Mercedes, and now this BMW? He blocked a calle, holding up a dozen cars, so he could run out and buy some pescado, fish. Nice.

Most exciting part of my day? We are sitting on the bed, waiting for Bex to come in with Max's leche y agua, and we normally read some books. Max picks his favorite and says "more", so I say to him "your turn", as he knows what that means. Now I have done this while we sing or strum guitara, but never while reading.

So next thing I know, he is using his own words and reading the pages and then flipping the pages and reading some more.

I called Bex in to watch and Max went timido for a minute and was reading very quietly, but as we congratulated him, his voice picked up and next thing you know, he was "reading" with gusto! So cool to see!!

Other misc?

So, you may or may not know that there is a municipal jail behind the CP complex. As the wall of the jail is close to the alberca, sometimes you can hear the drunks singing their weekend away.

The other day as we had familia swim, Bex saw someone jump the wall and run through the complex. And then moments later, she spotted someone running along the wall.

And 10 minutes later, the Policia Municipal arrived. Ok...let's think about this. How did two peeps get out of a jail and manage to scale a wall and get away? Can you say "propina"...tip? I have NO doubt in my mind that someone was paid to look the other way. Viva Mexico!!

Oh, you are waiting for weather stats? Wait no longer!!

Our julio 2013 temps were an average of 31,9 for highs and 26,8 for lows. Compared to the 34,3 and 27,2 for julio 2012, you can see our highs were much cooler this year.

Por que? Even though we had the same amount of days with precipitation as we did last year, 4, we had a lot more days that were partly overcast vs mainly sunny.

And our forecast for agosto? Last year we had average temps of 32,8 26,5...but we also had 10 días with some precipitation and the humido returned for the last 10 days…ugh.

In case you are interested in the yearly Huatulco numbers, I found this chart online.

Ok, off to finish watching the News and then call it a day.

Mañana? Sábado all ready? We have a cita con el dentista at 2pm...stay tuned.

Have a great weekend.

Marco, Bexico y Max
