Buenos noches!!
The weekend is here
finally…lol.
And how did our viernes
start? Very early…like 230am. Ugh. Madre had the night shift and Max was pooped
and wanted to sleep, but just couldn’t fall asleep.
I took over at 330am and
it took me a long time to get him to sleep. Finally I propped myself into a
corner and held him in my arms until we both fell asleep.
The best news is that we
both woke up at 745am and were well rested!!
The boys had the usual AM
rutina and our walk included handing out a few of the fotos we had printed off
of Max and his admirers.
Both these peeps were very
thankful and I was surprised when the senora asked how much she owed me for the
foto!!
Madre had woken up as we
were headed out the door, and when we returned from our walk, she had us set up
for our Mojon trip. Success!! We are actually going to make it!!
Our fotos will tell you
about our día at El Mojon.
What the hey? A big hole has been dug right by our palapa? Turns out a sea turtle did some business there (no eggs remaining) and needed a place to rest. Ok with us!!
Busy day on the playa.
On your Max, set, go!!
Into the olas and back out. Into the olas and back out. The lil'swimmer LOVES Mojon!!
I am a Great White Tiburón (see the shirt)...hear me roar?
We were up at 745am and by 1pm, it was siesta time. First shift belonged to madre.
The familia fell asleep and I was playing with my iPod when all of a sudden I caught a wiff of something that smelled baaaaad. Next thing I see is a few dozen of these turkey buzzards circling the playa. I went to investigate.
Sad to discover a sea turtle that did not survive after having some rope caught around its neck.
Back at the Palapa de dos Conejos....
Max stirred when the perros started barking at the turkey buzzards...so the Whisperer took over and here is the result.
The boys were lights out!!!
We packed up and were on
the road by 4pm…another great day at the playa.
I dropped off the familia
at CP and headed to Pemex as the camioneta was running on fumes.
The price of gas is
government controlled and it went up in enero and with the dropping value of
the loonie vs the peso, we have seen the price of a tanque rise by almost $10
Cdn. Doph.
At Pemex I asked the
jockey to fill up the truck and the jerry can, known as a garafa (?) according
to the hombre. He then made a comment that I did not understand and told him
so. His reply? In perfect ingles he says the truck was almost out of gas. I laughed
and congratulated him on his ingles, which he appreciated.
Family in LA is how he
learned his ingles and I am sure there is more to that story.
Home for a quick alberca
dip and then a set up for dinner and the PM rutina. Great steaks for dinner and
the lil’guy wolfed down his dinner and some of madres as well!!
Nice to see mi hermana y
sobrino during our FT con Oma y Opa and after tina time, bed time.
Later nap meant the
Whisperer had some work to do, but it wasn’t much and it wasn’t tough.
I gave Max a hug, some
agua and then more hugging. Then Max spat out his chupy, asked for more agua,
tanqued up and went quiet. Into the cuna he went, where he grabbed Pudge for
snug time, gave his padre a wink and a sample of his new giggle, and then
promptly fell asleep. Score!!
So, at 845pm, I await
Satellite Debris via Squire Barnes, Max is lights out and Bex is HARD at work
on her 2 contracts.
Bex’s current work is an
animation for a client in Ontario and she is also completing 100 illustrations
for her other client, who is actually an old work-mate of Bex’s from TO. Small
world!!
The rest of the fotos.
The only other hombre in town that has red hair, and Max finds him!!
Some pre-alberca fotos. Oh yes, the hair is PRE-alberca!!
Just like padre's hair...it grows out, not down!!
Mañana? El gimnasio and we
will see what else happens. On domingo the big race in Phoenix starts at 2pm…might
have to PVR it if we head to Mojon!!
Hey…the weather stats?
Thought I forgot? Naaah. Wow, I thought our febrero was warmer then last years,
but it wasn’t. We had average highs of 31,6 grados vs 32,1 last year, but our
lows were almost mismo with 25,5 this year and 25,4 last year.
No lluvia for the month
and only one day where the sun did not shine. A few humid days but it
disappeared by 9pm or so.
What does marzo look like?
In 2012 we had no rain, but by the end of the month, the clouds start to move
in from the montañas around 2 or 3pm.
As for the temps…it got
warmer with the average highs 33,9 grados but the nights stayed around 25,9.
And come abril…humido!!
Lluvia? Our first rain was
torrential and it came on 22 de mayo. By that time it was welcomed due to all
the humidity!!
You are up to date. Buen
fin de semana.
Marco, Bexico y Max
