If any family are reading this today, don't forget Mom has a birthday tomorrow. With the new funky glasses, she is looking Greta!! The cost of those glasses came out of Olen's share of inheritance?
Ok...we are tired!! Bex worked late Tuesday night then came home to finish backing up her computer to an external hard drive...and then was up at 630am as we started our day.
Did I say we were going to hit the road at 8am? I really meant 10am...argh. It took a few hours to finish the packing (bed sheets we had be sleeping on etc) and there was NO way everything was going to fit into the truck. Bex, master packer of the Universe, gave it 100% but even she conceded defeat. That meant the Boes punch/kick bag (for the gym) was staying behind. But I wanted to keep it so that meant I was doing a quick trip to the storage locker...yikes and argh. Oh well...might bring it down in January and it will definitely be hung in the villas!! (Latin -.02 today, Emerging +.02=+$300 for the day).
So we hit the road at 10am and made great time to the border. 30 minute estimated wait was 45 minutes and we were greeted by a US border guard who asked "what have you got going on here?" with a laugh...as she stared at this packed to the rafters truck. Spent 10 minutes (peeps behind us not thrilled) talking about the Freedom 45 plan and watching her jaw drop when talking about $600/month rent for a two bedroom and pool!!! Then she waved us on and ta-da into the US of A!!

Highway all the way to Olympia with one section of backing up on I5 to get to the exit I meant to take...doph!! Can you say crazy? After Olympia it was one and sometimes two lane roads through small town Washington and into Oregon.
Beautiful country, but pouring rain from Seattle down, so no stopping for photos!!
One tank of gas got us 450km...100km better then city driving even though we are loaded down. Great outhouses (in the pouring rain) at this gas stop...lol!!
Stopped for dinner at the Creekside Pizzeria in Seaside and had some chicken while Bex the conejo had the all she could eat salad bar...duh!! Small place, we were the youngest by 50 years and everyone knew each other by name...and possibly other ways. This is my brother Darrell and my other brother Darrell kinda feeling. We did like the to-go packaging brought out for the two old biddies....zip-lock bags!!
Bex wants to assure all that it IS possible to sleep/nap in the truck with a case of water under your feet. I tell her to drink more and she will have more room and we will have better gas mileage!! She is steamed though that they do not seem to recycle paper and/or Diet Coke cans down here.
Talking about cold Diet Coke, my addiction is semi under control, but having a 12 volt cooler in the back seat is not helping things!! I am 45 years old..."frosties in the car" now has a new meaning!!
When you come to visit and pay the f&f rate, ask the bartender for dos coca light con hielo and we will have a cheers. Two Diet Cokes with ice is today's Spanish lesson.
Just got off the phone with M&D...the Magic Jack proving it's worth.
Weather forecast down the coast to Arcata California (tomorrow's pit-stop) is light rain. Friday's forecast for Reno Nevada is sunny and 26 degrees while our Vegas stop on Saturday and Sunday has a forecast for sunshine, 36 degrees and big $$ on blackjack!!
Hasta la manana!!
