Hola mis amigos.

As promised….click HERE for your refresher on Día de los Muertos.

It is a strange time as Halloween is not really celebrated here, but we do see some costumes, and then there are these ceramic calabaza on the side of the road.

Ok, our day?

Great day that started a little later, 645am.

Max was a tad wacky this morning, we had the opportunity to eat desayunos early and go for our walk, but noooooo.

Once in the highchair, he wanted nothing to do with eating. A Van-Arnold niño not wanting to eat. Something not right with that picture!! Ja ja ja

So out of the chair we go and as he lapped the room, I would get him to take a spoonful of cereal. Hey, it worked…and we cannot go walking on an empty stomach!!

Good walk and after extensive training during the morning, he was using his “oh-oh” words. Yup, he knows how to say oh-oh. Hilarious and even better when he dropped it with his madre.

Good nap and after that it was lunch and I even made it to el gimnasio. Phew. Good to get back but still not 100%...no complaining.

Funny story…I was walking past Raphael’s shop and there was a Santa Cruz taxi getting worked on. The taxista said hola to me, so I stopped and we chatted.

He asked how my hijo was…hilarious. He did not know Max’s name, but he has seen us park the camioneta and then walk to the playa. It IS a small town!!

When I got home, the familia was in the midst of siesta #2 and when they awoke…off to the playa!!

The usual fun times and we saw Sandra from INM. She takes a foto through her oficina window (not a bad gig) and then comes out to say hola. She tells us she has sent her madre the previous fotos of Max, and her madre loves them.

Then she takes a foto of my Hecho en Mexico tattoo, because I guess her madre did not believe her that I had one. Ja ja ja

Home, la cena, PM rutina and you are caught up.

Fotos.

Oh the lil'mono (monkey) is trying to get to the iPod.

At least this time, he managed to get out from under the bed without getting stuck!!

Canadian Tire to the left and Ikea to the right.

Just getting ready for Max's fiesta...hola to some Modelo!!

Mañana…gym and I want to see what the fiesta site looks like at 1pm as we are nervous it will be too hot. Doph. We liked Pucks due to the coverage, TVs and ventiladors and we liked the 2nd choice because it was still outdoors. But we may end up in our 3rd choice due to the sol. Stay tuned.

Have a great weekend and for our amigos in Vancouver, stay dry and for our Ontario amigos, we hope you miss the big storm.

Buen fin de semana.

Hola mis amigos.

What a GREAT way to end the día con mi hijo!! After madre’s 30 minutes are up, I went in to close the deal. As you all may recall, we are on the no rocking policy and working towards the self sleeping and please oh please, the self soothing.

So after 10 minutes of trying to get Max to settle on his own and with no success, I let him crawl into my lap.

Now, this normally means 10 minutes or so and he will be lights out, but today we spent 15 minutes having our first conversation!!

In his very soft voice, Max would babble some words to me, and I would reply. This continued for the 15 minutes and then it changed into Max making fart noises, blowing raspberries and just being a lil’guy.

A little more babbling and then mid sentence, nothing…Max was lights out. Best time I have ever spent with the little guy as he was falling asleep!!

And on the topic of the lil’guy, it is hard to believe that in less then one year, Max has gone from this….

…to being able to do this. Click HERE to see the video.

Awesome.

As for the day? Padre is slowly on the mend. More energia, but is now onto the dry cough…ugh.

I took the AM rutina shift and that started at 630am. By 930am as we were getting ready to go, Max decided that we would nap before his walk. He was quite vocal about it and I was up for a nap so off we went.

Madre had a well deserved sleep in and when we awoke, she took over and you know who finished his siesta. Hey…I am fighting the gripe!! Ja ja ja

Bex and Max spent the day together and prior to his 2nd siesta, the familia went for a nice stroll.

At the panaderia, bakery, we saw this sign.

Translation? Bread of Dead.

The big celebration is coming up on primero y 2 de noviembre, and the town is getting ready. In the foto above, you can see the orange flower and the candles that are displayed everywhere. Maybe mañana I will give you a Día de los Muertos refresher.

While I was in the bakery ordering the postre y galletas for Max's fiesta, we played "¿dónde está el bebe?" (peek a boo) using the sign in the window.

And this next one is my new screen saver.

Nice day in Huatulco and the zocalo was tranquilo.

When it is time to go, and the lil'guy is pooped, padre steps in.

Pit stop at Gabriels and hola to Daniel.

Dos amigos headed home.

Then while the familia slept, padre relaxed and puttered around. A good siesta for the 2 of them and they went for another walk after the nap and antes alberca time.

Me? I set up for the PM rutina and then off to the pool. The lil’niño loves the water and the new bucket we bought him…vida es buena!!

Great cena…hola to more cerdo…and then the GREAT PM rutina, and you are all caught up.

Mañana…hoping to be well enough for el gimnasio y la playa. I am also going to have to plug in the MJ and call these Canadian satellite internet companies as neither of them have replied to my emails…dumb a**es!!

Have a great viernes!!
