Well…last night was a much better night for the lil’hombre. Phew!!

There was some extra rocking but then he slept until we moved him at 11pm and then did not stir until 6am…and even then, after a tank up, he slept until 7am!! Yahoo!!

We had a good morning rutina, but he seems to like to split his desayunos into 2 sessions. Or maybe he likes his breakfast cold as he wolfs down the half I store in the fridge while we are on his walk. I have asked him, still waiting for the answer!! Ja ja ja

No ah ha’s on our walk, but madre y Max spent some time with one of his novias during their walk. I guess she held his hand, stroked his hair and just admired the lil’lady killer!!

Roman popped by and we went to the roof. We have had some good rain since the hurricane, and no more water has come through…phew again.

10pm UPDATE…

Had to call in the reinforcements…yup, Max is still awake. I spent some time with him and have figured out that he does not like the dark, or to be alone.

If I left the flashlight on and he could see I was in the room with him, he was calm in his cuna. The next step would be for him to fall asleep with one of us there.

Mañana…night light and we will give it another try.

Back to the day…

The roof has had some repairs completed on it for the past week and that may have helped, but it is a patch job and the roof needs a new membrane.

As for the area around the gable, it will not be a cheap job to repair and I leave that up to Nick to figure out what he wants to do.

I am still tracking down his contact, and maybe we will get some better insight into the situation. Stay tuned.

Roman and I then spent some time talking about Mojon and we should get a look at the CAD drawings in the next few days.

We also looked up some examples of Talavera tile…world famous from only 3 towns in Mexico. Click HERE for examples.

We are looking at using this tile in the baños and the front of some staircases.

But how about this piece of equipment to rest on?

Only $700 US dollars!!

Might have to make a road trip to Puebla to get these tiles at the best possible prices as they are not cheap when bought in other parts of Mexico or Internationally.

Roman is back mañana to look at a ventilador that has a loose blade and we will discuss some new Mojon ideas. Still trying to solve the parking issue. Stay tuned.

Sometime during the day, Bex y Max went for a walk…hello to some $100 peso jeans that have become new jean shorts for madre!!

Plugged in the MJ and made the call to the BC Health peeps. Wow was it tough to get a real person on the line. And when I finally did, it was the wrong government department!! At least he transferred me to the right peeps.

We are requesting some information, but they won’t send it to us via email. So we write out a letter, and I will send it to mi amigo Melon who will fax it to them.

They will get us the information, send it to Port Moody where mi hermano will scan it and email it to us. Welcome to living in a country which lacks fast and reliable mail service. Doph.

After some 40 minutes on hold or hitting the 1,2 and 3 keys as well as the odd # key, and another 5 minutes actually talking to a living person, the call was complete and I got ready to hit the gym.

Doesn’t happen often, but it was the worst workout in months. I was not in the right mind space, so packed it up and headed home.

Grabbed some more molida res as we needed a bitty burger for Max’s cena and then a quick hola to Lalo.

Home and we had a short alberca time as the agua was fria and with no sun….brrrrr.

But madre stayed for some laps and Max and I were greeted at the top of our stairs by this kitten. Max LOVED the kitten, playfully stroking it and giving an ear a tug.

And then the darn thing ran into our condo when I opened the door. Max’s eyes were wide and he was entranced y this animal scooting around the condo.

About this time we dialed up mi hermana for a FT and Max put on a good display.

A good rutina up until his actual bedtime…and you are all caught up.

Bex managed to get the lil’guy to finally fall asleep and she has now headed back into the oficina, completing some work for both her Belgium and American clients.

Not to many fotos today….but here they are.

Another day, another attempt.

Bob, the one legged pigeon.

A very trusting soul. The musician has left his instrument (like a large wooden xylophone), protected from the rain, standing alone in the zocalo.

Have a great martes.

So Max, did you fall asleep easily last night?

Uh, no I did not padre!!

So the night time adventures continue. Max needed 3 attempts at faling asleep, but the good news is that Bex read online that this could very easily be attributed to Max’s brain growing and absorbing all the new things he is has learned in his short life.

I guess during this phase of his life, the brain does not slow down when he sleeps and makes him restless. It can last up to 6 weeks…5 more to go!! Ja ja ja

But for me, it wasn’t that rough a night. I was upstairs helping Bex with one of her projects, supplying some voice over work, when I heard the call from the lil’snoozer.

The Niño Whisperer went into action and quickly realized that Max was asleep’ish, eyes closed, but just not able to stay asleep. So in a situation like this, there is only one answer…chest sleep.

Now normally this is a short term fix and then I would put him into his cuna or onto our cama, but last night things did not happen that way. How about the two of us going to the big bed at 3am!!

Yup, 5 hours on the chest and not just across the chest, but head on the chest and the rest of the body laying on mine!! Sigh!! Ja ja ja

So he had a great sleep and mine wasn’t too bad, but madre came through and at 7am when the lil’guy woke up, she took the first shift and I grabbed a few more hours. Best sleep in months!!

I took over and madre hit the sack. Someone has insomnia…doph.

Max and I goofed around and then off to the pool…but brrrrr. It was down to 25,0 grados last night and there was very little sun ayer and none hoy, so the agua was fria.

Max did not enjoy floating and when he asked to be put into the water, he quickly told me that he had made the wrong decision and now wanted to go back upstairs.

Had to wake madre up for some leche and due to it being domingo and no gimnasio, I participated in the afternoon rutina, which is normally madre’s territory.

So, currently 320pm, the race is on and Max y madre are working on Max’s 3rd siesta. I think they are headed out for a walk after the nap is over. Max is getting condo fever and as it is overcast bit sin lluvia, a good time for a walk.

Probably too cold for alberca time…maybe the 2nd time that has ever happened.

Misc

Roman and a roofer are coming over mañana. It rained again ayer y anoche, but no new water coming through. The Condos have also had an hombre doing some roof work over the past few days. Not sure what they are working on, but hopefully everything will be repaired and we will not need to think about moving.

Ayer, as Max and I were headed out for a walk, we saw a senora walking around with one big conejo in her arms. Max was visibly excited about this animal…a great sign in regards to us building our Casa de Dos Conjeos at Mojon!!

Anyway, we went over and the senora was very friendly and let Max touch the rabbit. It all went well until his little manos grabbed one big floppy ear and wouldn’t let go!! And with his kung-fu grip, it took some work to pry him loose. Ja ja ja

Looks like we probablemente have a date picked for Carlos, Tony y yo to go to Istmos, Carlos’s hometown. Next week is out as on domingo they need to vote for the new Presidente, so we will go on sábado, el 7 de Julio and return el proxima día. Should be fun and interesting…stay tuned.

Fridge part update? Ordered one via the MJ as we needed it paid by me and shipped to Regina, where it would be signed for by Les and then picked up by Randy and driven to Huatulco. What, we could not do that online?

Anyway, the part was supposedly in stock...delivered in 3-5 días. Not.

I received an email and they tell me the part is now not in stock until 27 de junio. Huh?

So I had to confirm with Randy when they were headed back, due to the fact that with the delay and then the Canada Day holiday, the part won't get to Regina until 3 or 4 de julio.

Good news...they are not headed back until the 10th or something like that...hoping to have full use of the fridge by the end of July!!

Fotos…as promised.

Snug time!!

Next foto has not yet been approved for publishing.

The lil'climber aches to get up onto that ledge!!

Check out those lats and traps!!

Tough to see him...camo niño!!

Padre...where did Quatchi go?

Ahhhh...I found him!!

Note the playera (t-shirt), as he was getting chest rub (huh?) and the well placed pillow in case he decides to do a Max-slam!!

These 3 fotos are from the walk we took ayer.

At the campo de futbol, they also have a basketball court. Yesterday they had a half court tournament going on.

Ok, I will finish and post this blog at the end of the día..after hamburguesa domingo is complete!!

Great race...MWR winning in Sonoma California!!

Ok, the burgers were a success…hello!! Cannot wait until we are Webber’ing some up on the bbq at Mojon.

Had a nice FT con mi hermano y familia…nice to see everyone. And then later Max y madre managed some Skype time with Max’s Ontario abuelos, Roly y RJ.

And after the Skype, I stayed home to watch the end of the race and the 2 of them went to the park to let Max try out some crawling in the sand.

Success, but not the nicest park. We are thinking sand box at Mojon, or getting some clean sand to put in one of the bins and Max has his own sand box privado!!

And coming home from the walk…

Currently 8pm and the end of the rutina is near….knock on wood.

Mañana…Roman, el gimnasio, a couple of MJ calls and hopefully an update on phase 2 of our current Mojon project.

Last foto.

Have a great lunes.
