Buenos noches mis amigos.

1020pm and Bex is in the oficina, Max is fast asleep with Pudge, and I am multitasking between the blog and a fridge that has been taken apart.

The fridge drives me crazy…and it is new. First a cheapo plastic shelf broke…available online in Canada for $13…I cannot find one here. So, we have a shelf full of food being stored elsewhere in the fridge. Oh...but Roman's source in DF said he found one for $500 pesos...ah...no.

Then water starts coming down from the freezer, via the vent holes, and flooding the top shelf. Well normally, as we all know, that means the drain hole is plugged. So apart comes the freezer but nope…hot water seems to run down the drain hole without any issues.

So, I will let it all thaw, clean it out, dry it out and put it all back together. Stay tuned.

As for the day…great to take the truck to el gimnasio, because I stopped in to say hola to Tony at his padre’s garage and then after el gimnasio it was Fonatur, Nissan to say hola to Carlos, and then Che.

Carlos is all about chelas and Istmos…when are we going to drink some beers and when are we going to visit his hometown? I told both the boys…their turn to “invito” which includes picking up the tab. I drink 2 or 3 beers and that will not take food out of anyone’s mouth!!

So maybe chelas in a week and we will see about picking a date for Istmos.

Che? Score on whole wheat pasta…direct from Italy of course. We are set up for the next 3 dinners as well.

Max? Superstar might be crawling this week!! Madre does such a great job setting up areas for him to practice the bum and tummy lift (followed by some grunting of course….Max, not Bex) and he is so very close.

We will need all eyes on deck as he will be a mover and shaker when the time comes.

The two of us had a great walk and bumped into Bex as she completed some alberca time.

Later we hit the pool and mañana you should expect to see some fotos like this, but from the pool!!

This floatie was given to us by Moe's wife. Their nieto, Cooper, used it a few times but it wasn't his gig. Max? Loved the darn thing....we will see what happens when we stop pushing it around the pool and he has to power it himself!! Ja ja ja

Great weather today and the place is deserted…our own private alberca and we are not complaining!!

Max is also eating up a storm. Bex made him some sugar free apple sauce and he devours that, his rice cereal and of course…lots of leche de pecha!!

Lunes, Bex will make a cita for his 6 month tune up and inspection and then around May 4 he will get his 6 month vacuna.

Max also managed a quick FT with his abuelos and in-between grunts, he truly seemed to enjoy and miss them.

Misc…if you do not live in Canada, you cannot file your taxes (or lack there of) electronically. More research needed…maybe we do not need to file at all?

Ok, the weekend has arrived. The race is mañana at 630pm…right inbetween rutina time? Who planned that? Ja ja ja

Not sure about Mojon…maybe domingo? Bex?

Have a great fin de semana and we say hasta mañana with this foto.

Pre-rutina time and he was just keeping himself occupied by chomping on a rubber duckie.

saludos

What a great day. Here is why.

Early walk while it was cool and then off to cool the jets at the alberca. Passed the lil’lounger to his madre and I hit el gimnasio…had a great workout!!

I had a pow wow with Roman and we have laid out all the guidelines in which we can conduct business and have approved the next step with Sergio the architect.

We are going to spend some pesos and get the rough ideas on paper, but using the engineers etc to see how close to budget we can get.

Roman has our list of requirements for the building, as well as how we conduct business and he seems pleased to be dealing with someone who lives here and understands the way things happen here. He also seems pleased with our possible side deal, where he gets to keep a portion of any true savings on materials, above and beyond the cost Sergio quotes us.

I figure that if I incentivize him, I am going to see better results. That and he is crystal clear about the need for communication and the transparency when it comes to the financial matters.

Raced home from that meeting….could not miss pool time!! It was a double dunk jueves and we are now laughing before the dunk. Por que? We have Max in the rutina that we count 1,2 and blow in his face (to close his eyes and mouth) at 3. He is so smart, he is now closing his own ojos y mouth at the count of 2!!!

Not as hot today, but good to be in the pool after 430pm when there is some shade.

We came up from the pool later then normal and that put our rutina into rush mode, but we managed to get the lil’sleeper into bed and after an extended time with Bexico, he was lights out.

Great pulpa cerdo con papas para la cena!!

Mañana? Maybe Scotiabank as my ATM card does not seem to be working. We also want to get to Mojon before the rains come…20 de mayo!! Oh yeah, recycling at Fonatur and Che are also on the list.

Fotos.

New caseta (guardhouse) at the condos next door.

New roof almost completed.

Maybe the circus is in town?

And working under the big tent...

Big elections coming up. The hombre on the right was checking in on the group of sign painters....a possible new career for Opa if I recall the conversation correctly.

Dos niños y dos mochila and madre still has time to fill out an application for a credit card with a 59% annual interest rate.

How much azucar is in these bebidas?

Can Bob come out and play?

Una palabra nueva, jaripeo....rodeo.

Un otra palabra nueva, huespedes....guests.

Wildlife shots.

The condo next to ours has a roof leak...through a crack in the concrete. Three days of banging and they tell me today was the last day. Here are the repair supplies.

Another one is up for grabs.

Max has been missing his abuelos. Seriously, I think he noticed it most at the parque where we all sat together on a bench like this, and cooled down.

But this could also be the work bench of the Zapotecan mujer who sells handicrafts in the parque. The bench has been empty since mis padres bought a few items off of her...maybe she thinks she struck gold and is on a vacation?

Another shipment of bike tires has arrived.

Yoga mat anyone?

And magically appearing on the street corner...

I liked all the colors in this next foto.

There is very low respect for pedestrians here. Another example...a load of sand dumped on the sidewalk. You have to go onto a busy road to get around it...dumba**es.

But...I must commend the many taxistas who do actually stop and let Max and I cross the street.

Cutting out the middle man...direct from factory pricing. A couple is test driving a kitchen mesa y sillas.

Enough of that...bring on the Max fotos.

The highchair series. Not sure why he sucks in his bottom lip.

And caught in the act of chez lounging. Who me padre?

Have a great viernes!!
