Hola!! It is 511pm and I am watching the Colts vs Patriots while sipping on a Coca Light.

Had a great day so far and here it how it all unfolded.

Pan frances Domingo and then I kicked M&P out of the condo for 20 minuto so I could vacuum and mop.

Then we loaded up and dropped them off at Santa Cruz. We went on to Senor Pucks, which was very busy. They open at 8am for desayunos and had a full crowd eating and watching the CFL game.

We met the gang that runs the joint….all Canadians. Randy and his wife Karen seem to be the managers and Lanny built the building that houses the 60 condos and Senor Pucks.

Randy ran his own business for years and sold it to a US group 4 years ago. He had been a life long friend of Lanny’s (40 plus years) and Lanny asked him to move down to Huatulco, which he did with Karen 6 weeks ago.

The condo complex is huge and very well constructed. In a previous life, Lanny was a General Contractor in Calgary so this building is up to Canadian standards. Great to meet him, as he knows all about Mexican building etc, and I can use him as another resource. The more I know, the easier it will be to keep my builder honest.

Our bartender was Heleodero….Lolo for short. Good thing as I still cannot pronounce Heleodero. He gave great service and it was evident he has been well trained by Karen and Randy.

Had a long chat with Lanny about life here and found out there is a high amount of racism here…darker Mexicans are looked down on by their lighter skinned fellow Mexicans…crazy.

As for the race…how exciting!!! Denny crashes early, manages to come back into contention with Jimmy but in the end Carl wins the race, Jimmy comes in second but wins the overall championship…his 5^th in a row!!

Bexico might draw a few Senor Pucks figures for Lanny, and with the CDN satellite package, we will probably head back to watch the Canucks in the playoffs!!!

Che for some groceries and then a pit stop for sandia and veggies.

Came home and saw these on the sidewalk.

These are wood chips that had fallen from the trees, which were created by these fellas.

Upstairs we were thrilled to find out that M&P bought us a “new palapa” gift…a very colorful hammock!! It will work wonders at Mojon!!

So that is Domingo. Esta noches (tonight) might be Scrabble time and manana is probably Santa Maria de Huatulco.

Buenos dias!!

Mi madre made a good point…I was not tired anoche (last night) because of them!! LOL

According to mi nobia, it was possibly due to the long day at Mojon but more likely the vino y cerveza I had with la cena or the C.R. I had before la cena!!

So this is an update regarding ayer.

Feliz Cumpleanos to Miss Reiko-san!! It was her 21^st birthday (again) ayer.

The gym was cerrado due to the 100 ano celebration of the Revolution, so we loaded up the truck (and headed to Beverly….Hills that is…swimming pools and movie stars…). Ok, enough of being tonto (silly…is that the best word for a member of the First Nations??…lol)

Drove to La Bocana and M&P had a quick walk and took some photos while Bexico and I picked up the surf and boogie board. As promised, the boogie board was gratis (free) and off we went.

No wait at the checkpoint and we were waved right through.

Once at Mojon, I showed M&P the wood house being built by Roman and team. It is a pine house built just like a house in Canada would be. Different to see that kind of structure here in Mexico. I am not sure where the wood was harvested, but according to the web, Mexico does have it’s own pine trees. Roman bought his lumber in Oaxaca City.

Just around the corner from the wood house and ½ Olympic pool, is our lot. I had been working on a surprise for Bexico and M&P and when we drove up to the lot, Bexico did not even recognize it. I told her “ una palapa por mi nobia” and then it sunk in.

Next week the workers will clear and burn the left side so as to make it like the right. They will leave the 2-3 trees/bushes as well as the cactus. We do not have any tall cactus, just a few small ones.

This is what the property looked like before the work. Between the posts is the public right of way and our lot is to the right. Yikes!!

And this is a calle (yup…a street) across the road from our lot. The boys are going to clear out the first 10 feet so we can park the truck there.

So we now have our own palapa, Palapa de dos Conejos (y Bono), and a parking spot too!! It is great shade, has a great breeze and possibly the next addition is a hammock. Hello Navidad day on the playa!!

All this work took about 5 days and cost $8600 pesos. Another $600 (as propina) for the boys to finish off the left side next week. The palapa cost $800 per m2 and this is a 3x2 m palapa. Once I know some workers personally, I will be able to get these kind of projects completed myself…and cut out the middle man.

Everyone liked the surprise and then Bexico and I were off to boogie board and surf while M&P frolicked in the waves like young people in love…lol

Padre took some photos and a few quick sketches and we had some siesta time in the sun and shade. Our friend, the pero with ocho nipples, came and hung in the shade with M&P.

Packed up at 330pm as we thought that calle Carrizal was closing due to a parade…we found out the parade was in the morning….doph.

There was a short line up at the military checkpoint, but after they had finished checking a truck, they waved the next few cars through, including ours. While we were waiting, a friendly soldier asked us about the surf at Mojon etc and I am sure one reason we were waved through was he could tell M&P did not fit the usual look of drug and/or weapons smugglers!!

Came home and used the shower at the alberca to rid ourselves of the sand, and then a quick dip. Nice and warm agua even though by 430pm the sol was no longer shining on the alberca.

Walked to Il Regoletto and had a great dinner. Ensaladas, calamari, wacky antipasto por padre, followed by the familia size pizza…this time to be shared by all 4 of us…not just Bexico and myself….lol.

The vino was ok…a bit (hee hee hee) light bodied for my taste buds…but the posteres (desserts) made up for it.

A walk around town, say hello to the boys at Gabriels, pick up a leather bracelet for Bexico…and a limon paleta….and then home.

Phew.

10am currently and I am off to make pan frances por our desayunos!! Then Bexico and I will be off to Senor Pucks at noon for the last Nascar race of the season…dropping M&P off at Santa Cruz on the way.
