Buenos noches!!

Well, round one is under way. What a wacky day!! It was only wacky because of all the changes to our normal rutinas. Max has been great and the least wackiest of the three of us!!

A good sleep...phew. Awake at 530am, seco...dry, and after a panale pit stop, the boys slept until 6am!! Videos at 615am...hello...and then up at 7am for the tranquilo time and desayunos.

I was out the door at 9am and Bex and Max went to Rosario's Palacio. Normally I have the morning with Max, but I was off to see Tony, mi mecanico.

Tony was on time...muy raro...and after 2 hours, the work was completed. Engine clean, injectors clean, oil changed, filter changed, one rad hose changed...the other one is too short!!!

I have a fun time hanging out with Tony, his helpers, amigos, taxistas that come in for work, as well as Tony's poppa...a fun hombre himself.

Tony's dad was muy feliz today...they won a new Nissan from the fishing torneo...some 40 kilo fish. Felicidades!!

When the work was all done, I asked Tony what his normal clients would pay and he said $450 pesos...but I am an amigo he added. Ok I said and gave him $400. He wanted only $200 and we settled on $300. Two hours work for some $27 CDN...not bad eh?

Fingers crossed that the engine cleaning did the trick and solved the noise....stay tuned.

I headed home...pit stop at Pemex, and then off to keep my ojos on Max as Bex went about her day, which included a bici ride and then trying to explain to a dumb-a** that her brakes were not working correctly.

No siesta for Poppa as we had the dryer repair hombre coming at noon...arriving at 1220pm of course. Our usual guys were out of town, so Tony called up someone he knew and ta-da.

The cinturon on the dryer was not broken, it had fallen off the pulley. Helio fixed it, but now the dryer is LOUD as it rumbles and tumbles. Argh...hecho en Mexico for 20 minutos and $400 pesos.

And at 1230pm Max wakes up, looks around and does not see his Poppa, only the camera staring at him. I went in and Max decided he was not quite awake, but was not going back to sleep. Oh oh...an one hour siesta. Doph.

Max watched Helio at work and then madre came home and it was time for the two of them to retrieve the bici from the taller and then onto their comida and after lunch they loaded up the camioneta verde, threw Max's bici into the back and headed out to the parque.

They had a blast as there is a skateboard parque there and Max enjoyed himself wheeling around.

While they were out, I was at el gimnasio and then came home to get the casa cleaned up and dinner prepped. As pre-planned, the familia returned at 4pm and then the boys went out for a pre-cena prowl.

Max was tired from the bici riding, but showed no signs of it as we prowled around centro. We had errands to run...new batteries for the trucks alarm fob as well as look for some more medical tape as Max has fallen again. Oh Max!!

No luck on finding the tape...hola hola to small town Huatulco, but we had the batteries changed and also headed to the mall to look for more shoes for Max. No luck there either...doph.

We had a great pit stop at Gabriel the Owl and Max was super friendly to Daniel, his hermano Joshua, and Samuel. Success!!

It was another hot day...stinky hot...so the boys had a pre-cena dip in the CP alberca. Score!!

And then it was time to head upstairs, dry off, finish cooking la cena and then sit down to some oh so yummy muslo pollo.

Clean up, tina time and then bed time.

I am happy to report that the sleep goggles worked well, and that with Max pooped from a full day and a shorter siesta, he was lights out in his cuna, only 25 minutos after The Niño Whisperer took over from madre. Score!!!

So, a wacky day due to all the changes in the rutinas, but a great day over all!!

Tough to chose what was the best part of my day. It could have been holding hands with Max during the complete pre-cena prowl....or maybe the pre-cena dip in the alberca... or maybe it was watching Max's face as he heard himself on my hand held recorder, singing along to Gilligan's Island. His ojos were as big as saucers as he tried to figure out what he was hearing. Priceless!!

Ok, you are all caught up. Che day mañana...but I hope to get some fotos taken for the blog.

Mmm..cheer..mmm..i..mmm..os!! Cheerio y pasa pit stop!!

Buenos tardes!! Fresh from a familia swim in the CP alberca...time to watch the race, type some notes and figure out who is going to come in and fix the secadora, dryer. Doph!!

It dried one load and as soon as I put in load #2...heat but no tumbling. Pretty sure it is a belt but unless I want to do some online research, I am not in the mood to work up a sweat changing it!!

Maybe the guys that fix our a/c can do the drier...stay tuned.

We started the day with cool temps and overcast skies, the humido picked up in the morning and then in the afternoon the viento picked up, the humido dropped and el sol came out. Score!!

Happy to have clear skies during race time as the past two nights with our rain, we have lost the signale to the satellite!!

The día? Bex took Max watch and after some mid-sleep TNT, there was a 415am wake up and the little man pushed the correct buttons (Bex's) and scored himself some super snugs until 610am.

Bubba had another sleep in...score...and took over at 7am.

The usual AM rutinas and after desayunos, we were off for a prowl...con Max's carretilla!! We had a great prowl and have discovered that Max has another hombre that sends him into heart pounding fright.

Mi ol'amigo Ghimbeli, who used to work at mi gimnasio, drove up on his very loud moto and Max started wailing. Max was behind a railing and 10 feet away, but he still was scared. He has seen Ghimbeli before and knows Ghimbeli by name...not sure what up.

Ghimbeli is a friendly hombre and seeing that Max was upset, took off with a wave adios. And after 2 minutes of distraction, Max was a-ok. Wacky mis amigos...wacky!!

415pm...a few yellow flags during the race....and Max y madre brought a gato home for some leche. She drank up the leche and now sits outside our front door miau'ing, with Max laying on his belly on the inside chatting it up with her.

Back to the day...prowled and then came home for another dip in the alberca which has become a super fun part of the AM rutina. A great cool down for Max and his Poppa!!

Post swim, upstairs for leche, libros and a good siesta!! And once that was over...onto the afternoon rutinas.

Max y Bex cooked up the pollo for la cena...and listening in, I can tell you that it was no simple feat!! Keeping the lil'man safe from raw pollo, from the stove and himself!!!

I watched some racing, ate my comida and then helped Max eat his, and then joined the familia for part of the swim.

And with a besito, we were off.

Poppa broke down and paid the $5 pesos so Max could ride the mechanical jet ski. But I got these mug shots in return!!

A great dinner and then an easy clean up, onto tina time and round 1 of bed time is just about over...time for The Niño Whisperer!!

Mañana? The usual morning, but at 9am I am headed off to see Tony and get a lot of work completed on the camioneta verde. Clean fuel injectors, clean interior of motor, change oil and filter and change the mangueras (rad hoses) that I have been carrying around for a few months.

And somewhere in there, I will call Jose Antonio and see if he repairs dryers. Stay tuned.

Misc

And here they are!!! Yup, the weather stats from mayo...hot off the press!! We had average lows of 27,9 grados vs 26,8 in mayo 2013. We had average highs of 32,7 vs 31,9...it was a hotter month all around and I contribute that to the fact that we had more days with some precipitation vs last year (9 vs 7), but most of it was at night and we only had 2 good downpours vs a tropical storm in mayo 2013.

More humido then last year and we can expect lots of humido in junio. The records show that it is either a full day of humido, or from 4pm-8pm and then it cools down.

As for the rest of junio, we can expect average lows of 27,0 and highs of 31,6 with around 10 days with precipitation. Last year we had a mix of day and night showers...we prefer the night ones!!

Hey...now it is 10pm....yikes!! A long bedtime and then Bex and I had our date/movie night!! We managed to watch the documentary Searching for Sugar Man and enjoyed it.
