Buenos tardes!! That was smiling Max, ayer, at playa Entrega.

The familia is away at another, yes another, play date, so I take this time to jot down a few notes. The casa is clean and ready for la cena and the PM rutina...on we go.

A good sleep, the usual few wake ups...and lately a lot of talking in the sleep. Max even talks during his siesta!!

Awake at 620am...thrilled that this has become the new norm. Phew...just in time. Now, if we could only get the bed time ritual down quicker!!

Last night I read to Max, but only if he kept his ojos closed, thinking this would help lull him to sleep. Ahhhhh, no. It took another 40 minutos after that before he finally decided he had kept me waiting long enough.

Why does it take 90 minutos for him to fall asleep? Hmmmm?

Videos, tranquilo time and then onto breakfast, where Max decided that today was the día to try and push the boundaries of what he is allowed to do, as well as to try and push every one of his Poppa's buttons.

He is just a niño, he is just a niño, he is just a niño....

Because he does not pay attention, a hand covered in maple syrup, should not have surprised me...but hello? A full hand onto the plato with pan frances on it?

Clean up and then onto Sorianas. No scores, but Poppa came back with a headache...named Max. I was looking into the meat department coolers, stand up coolers with glass doors, when Max decides to wail on one and get it open. Yes, it would be the one that was in front of me...bang.

There was the escape of one palabra mala, and then some tears, but when I stopped crying, the boys hugged it out and discussed the concept of "asking"...for the 1000th time. Oh Max.

Loaded up and headed home, where Max promptly banged his head on the open car door. Karma...at his age?

Some tears, a hug from his madre and they were off to the CP alberca while Poppa dropped off the groceries and put away the perishables. In this heat..."stuff" grows quickly.

Off to join the familia for a swim and then upstairs we went...time for libros y leche. We scored with a 1130am sleep (good work madre) and after 90 minutos on the nose...Max was up.

Comida and then the familia went for a centro prowl and onto the play date, a pool session at someones casa.

Me? Eats and then I walked through the heat to el gimnasio. A good session and I can feel the energy returning, even in the 45,0 grado heat!!

On my walk to el gimnasio, I chatted up my amigos and Raphael the mecanico was actually working around the corner, literally, from where mi amigo was killed. The vibe on the calle is that it was not mafia o narcos, but that this hombre was from Oaxaca City and that his familia and another familia had some issues, and it was time to settle the score. Muy triste.

Due to the head bonking that had occurred today, Max decided to take no chances.

Salchicha de pavo pit stop.

More fotos from playa Entrega...gracias madre!!

A very dangerous wall...deep ravine on other side. But in the trees is also where Tommy, the tejón, lives. Super friendly...eats out of peoples hands. Wacky.

Here, Max looks for his amigo, Tommy.

Selfie.

Max swimming away as fast as he can?

Spot the guero!!

Paleta?

Going....

...going...

...gone?

Naaaah. All good.

Max y amigo...whose parents ignored any attempt Bex made at being amable with them.

Typical afternoon skies for early mayo...clouds over the montañas and some haziness. We even had some thunder.

Found a few other fotos while clearing out the crappy Sony DSC W730.

Max at the palacio.

And post comida, Max helping clean up.

Ok, you are all caught up. Dark clouds and some thunder....ooooooh.

We are going to PVR the race and head to playa Mojon on domingo!! Score!!

Have a great weekend y hasta mañana.

Buenos tardes. As you can see, we do not need to go shopping for any more pan, bread.

Currently 4pm and with a mix of sunny and overcast skies, the familia is out at playa Entrega. Time to update you all...lots of fotos to follow.

A good night!! A few quick wake ups and a 620am final wake up. Usual AM rutinas and the boys had a fun morning.

The prowl was HOT!! Wow, you can really feel the humido, even at 7am. Only a few more weeks and the lluvia will come and help tone things down.

Max is a-ok, but I can see the heat sapping his energy as well, so we stay in the sombra and take lots of agua pit stops.

Compliment of the día? We were on the prowl and we came upon the CP's administrator, a large fellow named Ernesto. Max will always wave at him when he is in his oficina, but on the calle, Max has become a little timido.

So Ernesto and I chat up the fact that it is stinking hot (he weighs 140 kilos I bet) and that the CP grounds are muy tranquilo without anyone there. He said all the Chilangos and Canadians are gone and then I said "all but 3". He replied "naaaah, you are all Mexicanos!!".

We have been declared locals!! Ja ja ja

Home for libros y leche and then a tougher siesta time. The lil'man was tired, and he hates to sleep...not a good combination.

Madre worked her magic and after a 90 minuto siesta, it was time for play and then comida.

Stinking hot out, and I am still not 100%, but I wanted to at least make it to el gimnasio and have a light workout. Into the camioneta verde and it's a/c and off for 20 minutos on the bici and then 10 minutes of weights...and I was exhausted.

Home to drop off the camioneta to the familia, help load the lil'man into it and then a quick float in the CP alberca.

And that has been our day.

Appetites are coming back, energy taking a lot longer. Maybe tonight's rib eyes will help!!

Onto the fotos.

Watch this transformation...all that by asking to see "Silly Max".

Señor Nosy, checking out what is going on next door.

Hmmmm....

Blowing his madre a besito.

And then going wacky...pretending she is right in front of him...and he goes in for the kiss.

Note...we consider wacky as a good thing!!

Max wants to touch and look into everything!! Today we added a new "niños no tocar" sign to my oficina. Here, Max is ready to rewire the internet system of Huatulco.

The owners of the water slides have their logo plastered over so many carros. Here, they have "wrapped" a pick up truck, with a picture of the slides. Smiling Max (oh Max) is making sure I know he wants to go back to the slides.

Max pointing to where Poppa almost flew out of the water slide.

And to the top, where Max y Momma start...oh yes, the very top!!

Not too hot to become a monkey.

Don't mess with the Canadian niño with the bag of Cheerios y pasas!!

The Bird Whisperer?

Hasta mañana amigo.

Sad news? Some of you might recall this next foto.

On Monday past, this hombre was murdered near my gym. I do not know why, I just read about it in the local periodico, paper. It hits a little close to home, because even though we never knew each other's names, he always took time to wave to me or to Max and I. Sad day.

What, viernes already? We have the big race on domingo, and we are going to try and get to playa Mojon as well. Stay tuned.

Before we sign off...the weather stats!!

In April we had average highs of 33,1 grados and lows of 27,3. That compares to 32,3 and 26,4 from last year. We certainly felt the heat and the 21 days with humido (vs 7 days last year) sure added to the heat.

Mayo? Last year we had averages of 31,9 and 26,8 with 12 days of humido and 7 days that had some lluvia, starting on May 23. Stay tuned.

Happy May Day...not mayday.

Hasta mañana.
