Buenos noches!!

The one issue with Max having a late siesta? He wakes up at 5pm or so, but when we get him into bed at 730pm’ish, he is not ready for zzz.

Currently 850pm and Bex had Max 730-8pm, I took him 8pm-845pm and Bex is back in there. Not sure what is up as we can tell he is exhausted, he just cannot relax (??) enough to fall asleep.

The ONLY good thing about Bex taking over for round#3? When I come out of the bedroom…fresh chocolate chip cookies are waiting for me!! Thanks Baker Bex!!

Family day domingo here in Huatulco!!

Good Max snugging from 530am-645am and then up and at’em. No walk…we all hit the playa after our first siesta.

Fotos from our morning at playa Santa Cruz.

All locked and loaded, ready for some playa time!!

Tiburón...sharks... at Santa Cruz?

Playa Santa Cruz...temprano...early...before all the familias arrive.

Max y madre.

Just when you think he is in for the beso...

It's really all about the lentes del sol!!

On the speed crawl towards padre.

Pit stop to make sure madre is still there.

Back to the mission.

Uh, kinda close to the ocean here folks. Remember last time? Swept away like driftwood? Hello?

Gotta pee.

Madre to the rescue!!

Ok, maybe the hat isn't a chick magnet...but Max is!!

Change the hat...off to climb the stairs that lead to the cruise ship pier.

How do I get in there?

Looking up at punta Santa Cruz, and the condos Sueño Real.

After the beach it was a tranquilo afternoon. Max had a nap and then some lunch, followed by a walk con padre.

That gave madre some “madre” time, perfect for some laps in the alberca!!

Max and I walked around a VERY tranquilo La Crucecita. Many shops closed because of the time of day (4pm) and due to it being domingo. Also no tourists in town…at all. Some Nationals will arrive for 16 de septiembre, Día de la Independencia and then the Canadians will start arriving in octubre.

Max and I hit the so-so air conditioned mall, and Max practiced some cruising and speed crawling!!

Home for nap #3 and then we all hit the pool for a short dip. That led us to burger domingo, and you are all caught up.

Misc

We are into a new month…I know you are waiting to read about this year’s agosto temperatures vs 2011. Well, here they are!!

This agosto, average highs of 32,8 and lows of 26,5. This is vs 33,5 and 26,3 from last year. Slightly cooler days and almost identical nights.

And what can we expect in septiembre? I only have 13 days of info from last year, as we were headed back to Vancouver. But the numbers I do have are average highs of 31,9 and lows of 25,9.

Those are some cooler days and my notes reflect a big drop in the humidity!! We have survived another hot season!!

915pm UPDATE

The cookies are gone…diet time!! Max is a-ok. He needed to burp…who knew? This hasn’t been an issue in months, the lil’gasser has had no problem getting rid of ANY gas build ups!!

Misc foto I found on the small camera. These are all alebrije birds in the hotel lobby...Oma would have enjoyed seeing these. Click on the foto for a larger view.

Mañana? Lunes…hmmm? A load of recycling needs to go to Fonatur, the condo needs some cleaning, el gimnasio and maybe another trip to the playa con the lil’hijo!!

Have a great lunes.

Lots of fotos to follow. As Max is doing...read on mis amigos!!

Wow…750pm and the lil’guy is already asleep!!

He had a long 2nd siesta, so we cancelled #3 and stretched out his awake time. That meant an early dinner (more quesadillas) and an early tina rutina, and he was lights out.

So…Max is out, the Nationwide race is on the tube, madre is cooking up some future eats for Max and then headed upstairs into the oficina.

Bex’s current workload? A client in India, a couple of guys in Australia, two different clients in the US and one client in Toronto. Phew.

How was the day? Max had a great night’s sleep, waking up only a few times and at 345am…headed into padre’s arms for 3 hours of male bonding time!!

But where was madre when we woke up? Uhhh…she couldn’t wake me up to get the CPAP mask on…there was some heavy snoring going on. Couldn’t have been that loud…the lil’hombre slept through it!! Ja ja ja

So we awoke to some rain and it was evident it had rained all night. No issue, as typical Huatulco, it was clear by noon.

So Max wolfed down his desayunos and then we slinged up for a nice walk. There was a light drizzle when we left and it was over a few minutes later…great timing.

Home for a 10am siesta and madre took over at 11am when we woke up. Good zzzz’s!!

And where did the two of them go? Note Max testing the flashlight.

They were all geared up for the playa!! They had a blast and spent some time stair climbing, speed crawling and of course some time in del mar. What is it about the sand at Santa Cruz? Two showers and a bath later, there is still sand in Max’s ears!!

While the familia was away, the Amor de Casa cleaned up the condo and got ready for el gimnasio.

Nothing special there, but it was nice to chat up Anita, the gal who took over for Jhanhet. Anita plays basketball, futbol y rapido and has sore knees, and she wanted my advice. Good choice, as I am the man with 2 rough knees!!

So I gave her my advice and even showed her my tensor bandages…tough to buy those here. But she said she could probably find something similar in Pochutla.

We spent a few minutes demonstrating some weight lifting techniques and after an hour, I was headed out the door.

Stopped in to say hola to the boys…haven’t seen some of them for a few days. Lalo? It has been a week plus and I hear he is on a bender…oh Lalo.

Sergio, Daniel and I chatted up what we can do for Max’s primero cumpleaños on 4 de noviembre. We are thinking a small fiesta…some beverages, postres y pastel. But where to hold it…and what kind of piñata to get…good questions!! And we have 2 months left to plan it. Stay tuned and keep an ojo open for your invitation!!

At Papaloapan, I grabbed some molida res for burger domingo and some quesillo for tonight’s quesadillas. Last night we used manchego and it was bland. In 2 years, we have never bought quesillo, the Oaxacan cheese…not sure why as it is GREAT on quesadillas.

From Wikipedia, here is a screen shot of their info on quesillo.

Wow...that is a small screen shot. Click HERE for the website.

Grabbed some more peppers for tonight’s pico de gallo and then it was home time.

Just in time to have a quick FT with mi hermana and the Larsons, and then Max had his sink bath.

Next thing I know it is alberca time and then upstairs to start la cena and you are all caught up.

835pm UPDATE

Max needed his 2nd tank and is currently milking up. Good news…he is lights out again.

The promised fotos!!

The lil'reader loves the book, City Animals. Each of these fotos is unique...and culled from over 100 that I took. Enjoy.

And with the same book...Max's peek a boo session.

Who says our hijo does not smile? The soother...pre-nap rutina and he normally spits it out as soon as he is asleep.

Misc fotos.

From our morning walk....the canals through town are flowing with agua from the montaña.

No sé...a window of ketchup cans?

And from my walk to/from el gimnasio.

It takes 3 chairs to load up the pastor on the spit.

A small blurb on pastor...

Tacos al Pastor were originally called Tacos Árabes back in the 1960s in Mexico City. Thinly sliced, marinated pieces of pork are put on vertical shishkabob and cooked while rotating next to an open fire. They are served on small tortillas with sides of cilantro, red & green salas, and onions.

Another hard day in the oficina.

For Victor y Amy as well.

Amy is still smarting from the tongue lashing I gave him for using el timbre (door buzzer), when the main door was shut. The main door being shut means nap time for Max!! Nice guy...dumb a** sometimes.

And where do you get those funky chairs the joven was sitting on?

Bulmaro y Elder have a new chair in the shop. No more resting on old tires.

Tines...socks anyone?

Mañana? Sleep in domingo? Naaaah. Maybe beach time for the compete familia, burgers para la cena and of course the race at 630pm!!

Have a great domingo and hope you are enjoying your long weekend.
