This is the parque I pass on the way to the gimnasio. Normally there are three or four comidors cooking food. Only one today because of Dia de Candaleria?

How I almost died today….

And when it broke off, I was only 3 feet away from where it landed!! The hombre walking the other direction when it occurred, looked liked he needed to clean his drawers.
The photos were taken on the way to the gimnasio, via the ATM. Just did a quick examination of the exchange rates for pesos vs Cdn loonie. I received 11.78 out of the ATM, if I went to TD bank in Van, they would offer me 11.42 and the exchange rate at the currency exchange I used in Van was offering 11.56 today. Looks like ATM is still the way to go.
As for the rest of the day…
Great session at the gimnasio, but it was short because I was tarde for our trip to Mojon.
Came home and loaded up, had a quick search at Copalita and then off to Mojon.
The olas were wacky today!!! They were not very good for surfing (they were bone crunchers I am told) or for boogie boarding. Oh well…that means hammock time and some sitting under the sol finishing another Sandford paperback.
As we were packing up to come home (and go to the cine), we saw a senorita walking past our lot. It happens…all of a sudden you see a Mexican walking down the dirt road.
Anyway, Bexico starts talking to her in Espanol and the next thing we know, we are giving her a lift to Copalita, where there is a taxi stand.
What we found out using our Espanol…she works at the “white” house at Mojon, as a cleaner. She has 6 kids. She lives at Barra de le Cruz and takes a “collectivo” taxi from Copalita to her casa. She speaks no Ingles, but does know the Ingles word Coca Cola (ja ja ja) and her name was Estella.
She now knows our names, which city we live in, that we take clases de Espanol three times a week, we are simpatico Canadiense, what Bexico does for work and that we are living here for one year (minimum). It was a great chat and I must say, Bexico did GREAT using both the new verbs and the correct conjugations!!
No search at Copalita and then raced home to shower up (hoy, el oceano smelled like some crazy seaweed) and eat a bowl of some yummy chili before heading out to the movie.
As for the movie we went to…
Not too bad…a 5/7 on the Bexico scale.
Picked up some paletas on the way home. Might not be her new favorite, but some paletas de fresa (strawberry) have found their way into our freezer.
Had a quick iChat with mi Padre and missed out on one with HK as this thing called el trabajo got in the way. Rescheduling.
Mañana? Homework primero and then off to clase. Gimnasio and alberca time will follow.
