Otro (another) fun day!!

We have a 16th official blog follower and they left us a comment that led to an email. It is truly a small world now a days, as BJ lives in NYC, but owns the lot across the street from ours at Mojon!! Not sure how he came upon the blog, but excited that he found us on line!! One day, all of us Mojon peeps will be surfing and having some cervezas on our playa!!

At the gym, I learned these sentences from Rosa.
“Anoches, osotros comprar una pequena arbol de Navidad y luces”
“Solo costo $160 peso”.
Last night we bought a small Christmas tree and lights. It only cost $160 pesos.
Also learned this word…moreton…bruise. I have one under my left eye…not sure why.
I had a great workout at the gym and saw mi amigo Finito…Francisco. We said our holas and did our solo workouts. When he left, Rosa smiled and I made sure she understood that even though he is “disconnected” as Lalo described it, he is a sympatico hombre (friendly man).
Rosa agreed and called him mucho tranquille…very calm. Fintio reminds me of the character Danger in the movie Million Dollar Baby. “Hey Boss, ho do they get the ice into the bottle” kinda guy.
Walked home and stopped at a large construccion store. They have tons of sinks, hardware, ceramic tiles etc. The tiles are cheap, but the quality plumbing hardware (taps etc) is VERY expensive as the locals would not be buying and using it…just the gringos or rich Mexicans.
Across the street is a lumber yard and I think they also manufacture cabinets there too. Good to know as I am looking for some wood for a few Propiedad Privado signs to use at Mojon…might need to stop into this yard soon.
Came home and had some alberca time…super chillin in the 30 degree heat!!
After the pool time, Bexico and I went for a walk. Here is the photo essay.
The woodpeckers took their toll.
I was not home when they took this down, but I hear it was a noisy removal. I also heard via the pool chatter, that the condo association paid the bomberos (firemen) to actually take the tree down for $100 dollars.

We walked down a side street very close to Carrizal and went to this fabric/sew shop.
Mi Madre went here to pick up a sewing needle, and we will return to get my shorts taken in (lost a few inches), but hoy we were there for some material to make a skirt for our arbol de Navidad. We bought uno metro for $45 pesos and it looks great wrapped around the tree!! In this photo, Bexico is trying to coax a nina into the picture.
Here is a photo of Betto and his hijo. Betto works at a restaurante next to Gabriels, but is also their book keeper.
They are setting up Navidad festivities all around town, and this is the tree they are setting up in Parque Central.
Not many lights on it yet, but I am sure over the next few days this tree will be all decked out.
We continued on our walk with Che as the destination. We needed a roti for la cena and a few groceries.
Right before Che, we found this cutie.
She’s a stray, but no room in the condo for her. Someone REALLY wanted to bring her home!!
If you look hard enough, you find the unique items. Semana pasada, we found the garbonzo beans mi madre had been looking so hard for. Hoy, we found this item.
It is marzipan, a treat mi Padre enjoys. Read up on marzipan here…
We walked home at 545pm and as the sun has almost gone down, it was a nice cool walk. Stopped in for some platanos and green beans and then it was time for la cena.
Manana? No trip to Puerto as our surf guy, Ody, is in the process of adopting a nino and he will not be there. So…we will do our regular routine and hit Puerto on Lunes.
